These poor souls

Relying on the socialist government to bring a high paying capitalistic job to you is not going to happen. Thanks for believing and appreciate your vote.
Of course not. The socialist government will bring you a welfare check that will keep you alive and a mainline from ESPN.

He got a job at the Eastman which is over an hour away?
No. He was a very smart man with a formal education only through the 3rd grade, and was a self taught engineer when you could be one. He traveled around the eastern U.S. as a project manager/bridge builder, dam builder, railroad trestle builder, etc. during the 1920's and 30's. He then settled down, and opened a lumber company. He was one tough hombre, way better man than I am.

They were tougher back then and having those experiences allowed him to grow and progress. That is what life should be about. experiences lead to knowledge and knowledge allows one to grow and progress.

It is as easy as moving. People move everyday. I don't mock these guys, but you really have to adapt to survive. Deliberately refusing to adapt to changing economics is a failure. But I am sure they are getting their welfare from the government.

I am what most on this board would consider a liberal and I think welfare should be temporary in nature. Then you would see people make the financial decisions that made sense. This maroon wouldn't be banking on a coal comeback if he didn't realize that he would be getting government handouts forever.

It’s not that simple for people up in their years, it really isn’t.

Your location says Georgia and you are from KY so I guess you didn't want to be a coal miner and moved. Smart move on your part.

I did, but it’s seriously not that simple for some. I don’t get how some of you don’t understand that. I’m not even defending the coal argument, there’s still plenty of mining jobs where I’m from, and people are working.

Then stop whining about your lack of employment opportunities. I hate cities too for the most part, but if your career goes tango uniform, you can't stay there and talk about what was.

I don't recall whining about my lack of employment opportunities. I've been working at the same place for 35 years.
Your mention of tango uniform says you were ex military.

They can't move. Why you might ask? I don't know. Probably the same excuse as why people in the hood can't move out of the hood and are locked in a generational cycle of poverty and crime. I still don't know WHY..no one ever seems to explain that one..

Same answer. Senselessness coupled with low standards of complacency equals a self-perletuating **** show.

Top Golf is awesome. I wish they'd go public. I'd drop 100K on them tomorrow.

Won't be long. They're contracting, breaking ground, and opening in a ton of major cities this year. It's the type of concept that ANY big city in ANY country can appreciate.

I might go in on it if I catch whiff of any locations in Asia in the next ten years.

Imagine... Top Gorf: Beijing.

the pay checks write themselves at that point

Did you slant your eyes when you made your little racist statement just now?

That's the chains for you. a fart in the wind can shake up the whole system. Switching tequilas in your house margaritas cheapens the cost of one of the most popular liquor drinks in all 200+ locations.

Also, hi McDad.

I was a GM at a national chain casual dining restaurant. Our paychecks were fedexed to the restaurants on Wed. They arrived on Thursday and were to be distributed on Friday. For years they were distributed Thursday. Home office did some calculations and decided that the 1 day of interest each period lost amounted to crap ton of money lost every year. Got a directive... anybody passing out a paycheck before friday would be fired.

I used to haul freight/checks in my early days between K town, Chattanooga, Memphis, Nashville, Tri Cities and up into VA. The bank sent a representative in a van with a driver to meet the plane and transfer the boxes of checks. As you similarly mentioned, these banks knew exactly how much $$ was coming in and had it figured out to the minute how much interests they were making or losing if the checks didn't get there on time (pre digital age).

I couldn't get into Nashville one night due to thunderstorms. Shot several approaches, went around a few times, started looking at alternates when I finally caught a break and got in. The bank guy was P!$$ed when I finally showed up and gave me up the road. Didn't care till he pushed me aside. Well, at that point I went nose to nose with him and invited him to prove how bad @$$ he was by going back through the thunderstorms with me. Not a peep out of that guy.

"It's so hard being white someone hug me!"

Quit crying, you p***y.

life's tough for everyone. Let me know when someone makes it through alive and then we can talk about privilege.

at this point we are bickering about who is luckier. hint: if you were born in America you are luckier than 90% of the rest of the world.

the rest of life is really just a matter of were you born into a rich or poor family. even that doesn't mean much.

Pointing out facts is now crying? You’re not interested in “Equality”? Interesting. Of course I’m not bothered, I’m better than that. It’s funny how you think white people and East Asians are superior to others. I make fun of everyone and treat everyone the same. You treat certain people delicately.

This coming from the guy who made a racist joke earlier. Typical. This would be different if you didn’t treat black people and Hispanics so delicately.

Classic ***** Dink.

Now, tell us again how you’ll liberate these hypothetical Muslim internment camps. That was a great bedtime story.

Sorry, I didn't mean you. I was referring to anyone that has the ability to change that situation but refuses to do so because they do not want to move.

Yes, Navy.
