Yes. Their very difficult to use. With they're different meanings I don't know whether to put them there or there. :)

Doozer, I used to try to call people on their poor grammar. It is too arduous a task.

i know. that's why i just vent here.

i guess my dismay of other people's grammar comes from a mother who was an English major and beat grammar and spelling into me with an APA manual.

I agree. So is it also hard to capitalize the first word of a sentence, too? :)

Another one of my pet peeves is "to, two, too."

I've already been schooled today on the proper use of "either". It pretty much ruined my day.

it is when you grew up in the Microsoft Word era, and it does it for you. actually, having to hit the shift key slows me down, plus, i'll admit some laziness on my part.

Once again, I was just messing with you. It is a way for me to avoid work, I guess. :peace2:

For the most part, I don't notice the errors... as long as the word is there, and looks close to being right whether it's in the right form or not, I'm able to read through it and keep on going.

Nothing bothers me more than when I hear someone say "I seen something." Seen is a past participle which requires a helping verb to precede it. The correct form is "I saw something" or "I have seen something." I'm a grammar nazi.

My biggest grammar pet peeve is people who use 'ideal' where they should use 'idea.'

My sister-in-law always has these wonderful 'ideals.' I have one of my own: she will not be speaking around my children until they are old enough to have already developed proper speech patterns.

I have one. People's misuse of the word "literally".

i.e. "I literally died laughing."
