My biggest grammar pet peeve is people who use 'ideal' where they should use 'idea.'

My sister-in-law always has these wonderful 'ideals.' I have one of my own: she will not be speaking around my children until they are old enough to have already developed proper speech patterns.

Are your children going to attend public school. Not that private school is actually much better, but their speech will be influenced far worse outside the home than from the ole sister-in-law.

Mine is 'hte' instead of 'the.' Wait...that's me. My left pinky is slightly irregular due to getting broke one time, and my keyboard is not fluid, so my fingers get dislexic(sp?) sometimes from not keeping up.

what is l337 speak?

and it's one thing to be typing so fast that you get letters jumbled in words. it's another to do things like this:

your a person
there house is nice
i have two many
their going to the game

etc...

I grumble about this stuff everyday when I read the Nation.
But then, the real shame is what passes for a sentence on a job application these days....
