it is when you grew up in the Microsoft Word era, and it does it for you. actually, having to hit the shift key slows me down, plus, i'll admit some laziness on my part.
For the most part, I don't notice the errors... as long as the word is there, and looks close to being right whether it's in the right form or not, I'm able to read through it and keep on going.

My biggest grammar pet peeve is people who use 'ideal' where they should use 'idea.'
