There are so many pseudo Tn fans ...

That probably explains it there, methuselah.

Football has come a long way since leather helmets.. Go read your cross word puzzles and leave the sports to us.
Yeah I could do that .but 5-7 isn't cutting there squirt. Think we need a little blast from the past my self.

As an old retired football coach myself, it's very difficult to not see everyone pulling on the rope in the same direction. It appears to me that we not only don't have everyone on the rope pulling for us, some are sawing on it and spitting on it in the process. I'm just an old diehard ut fan, I guess.

The attendance numbers suggest otherwise. Our average attendance is north of 100k. That is hard earned money and time being given to the university. A fan upset about about losing and wanting Tennessee to win (regardless of perceived negativity) is still a passionate and loyal fan. This is a "win-starved " program and many are ticked that a game that was won was given away in the fourth quarter again. They are loyal to the team and not the coach at the helm. Each fan has his/her own way of supporting the Vols.

What does getting on VN and b!tching and complaining abut the same crap day in and day out prove?

When some of you say what should we be positive about, well what does just talking negatively solve? Why not try and be positive instead of thinking so negatively?

There are reasons to everything..

Like us resorting to playing 3 underclassman on the o line that's clearly killing any offense we try.

But that's totally Butch's fault.......

May not be Butch's fault. More likely Mahoney. Why isn't Pair playing? Why isn't Blair, the top OL Juco recruit in the nation not playing?

That's fine, just learn to leave the coaching to the one's with age and the experience. You know, the ones who have been there and done that, have a closet full of trophies and more T shirts than they can give away.:)

The game has obviously passed most of yall by.

yeah that is 2.

So tight ends don't block on the line on a regular basis?

And those are true freaking freshmen I'm talking about..

Why am I arguing this? Have u watched a UT game this year? Our inexperience on the o line is the most obvious weakness u could possibly see ever.

Hopefully some of our younguns can grow up to be Al Wilson, Leonard Little, Peerless Price, Peyton Manning and most importantly Inky Johnson type players.

Blair was one of the top, not the top...

The guys not playing are obviously not ready either.. Which is scary.

well you said 3 on the o-line. I'm so sorry sunshine I could have sworn we had a TE coach and a O-line coach. (Different builds.different responsibility)

Of course there are more negative comments. What positivity did you get from the game on Saturday? Not taking anything away from the defense, they were great, but what positives did you get from that game with us losing?[/QUOTE

That game is the small minute corner of the big picture. Our defense is getting nastier as the year goes on. Our offensive weapons are coming back soon, finally. We are gonna have an extra ol for depth. Looking forward to see how that works out. We just got a verbal from the Hillsboro speedster last night that might also bring his highly touted dl teammate. It is rumored we get one of the best cb in the nation committing in the morning, which would move us to third nationally in recruiting. The class with maybe one more addition of a dl could be the best defensive class we have ever had. We have help coming at qb with a dual threat and a great pro style passer. We are bringing back some neglected traditions that Kiffin and Dooley lost as well as adding a few more possibly. Alumni players are coming around and are totally on board with what Butch is doing. I have more hope than I've had in six years. We have a lot of positives. I'm not crapping on all that over a dropped pass or an opponent made fg at the end of a game. 2-3 was what most people, that know a lot more about football that posters on here, predicted. We still have our sights on a bowl game. 6-6 is all we need and it can be achieved.

It's scary to think that if Mahoney is the problem Butch may be too loyal to let him go.

I hope Butch is ready to do such in order to compete in the SEC.

Though I hope Mahoney is good, because he's been with Butch since CMU, so he knows the blocking schemes best.

I think it's more lack of talent on one side not being able to make up for the lack of experience(in the weight room/field) onthe other.

Everything you said is proof that Coach Butch is the coach Tennessee needs and he will soon have the Vols back to the place we all want them to be. That being said I don't understand why you're so concerned about the so called pseudo fans. Wouldn't it be easier to state the case you just made, go with the just wait and see approach and then smile when everything comes to fruition?

You're waiting your time AC. Youth and inexperience mean nothing. It's fine that other teams can struggle with young and inexperienced players, but not UT. See if it's UT then it's nothing but excuses.
