Learn the difference in rap and hip hop. There's a such thing. Don't tell me they just said **** it and split up the same **** into two different categories. Hip hop artists don't want to be involved in rap. They never make it to them mainstream because no one gives a damn about intellectual hip hop. They call them back packin emcees bc they go to college. They don't want them to catch any kind of momentum.

Rap is a musical style just like rock, country, classical and any other musical style is. Rap and hip hop are the same bumpity bump style with different content according to you. That shouldn't be hard to grasp.

If they aren't the same content then why group them into the same musical group? Rock came from blues right? I sure as hell don't still call it blues. I know you have heard of them as separate entities so don't treat them as the same unless you have studied it a little bit.

First off, I sure hope you know that rock was born because of blues. Secondly, you know that rock has become it's own thing. Just because you aren't aware of the cultural difference of hip hop and rap does not mean it isn't there. In fact I'm sure you will find numerous sources on the internet stating the difference. If you can't understand it from there I will try to help you from there. Here's an easy hint anything top 10 is Rap.

I listened to the supposed hip hop song you quoted and the musical style is exactly like rap. I keep telling you, and you acknowledged, the only difference is content (the words in the song). If there was a deviation in the style of rap and hip hop I would agree with you they are two different styles, but they're not.
