The WRASSLIN’ Thread

Is there anyone preordering WWE 2K19 Flair edition that would be willing to sell me their Ric Flair funko pop? I don't care for the game (never even took one I bought out of the packaging) but I really really want the Pop

(or potentially I could give you cash to upgrade your preorder to the Flair edition?)

The ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard scheduled for Madison Square Garden on April 6th is a sellout. That has to really piss Vince McMahon off.

why would he care? MSG is the wrestling mecca. ROH does this every year. It's not like it's new and it could only potentially interfere with the HoF ceremony, which will still sell out.

Plus is it even the main arena in MSG? For a while people assumed it was probably one of the smaller sections in the building.

so it's all Dave Meltzer's speculation. I dunno why he went south so quickly, but for the past 3 years or so, any Meltzer speculation is as credible as speculation from VN's own football forum. WWE hasn't sold out MSG because they don't do any big shows from there anymore, they just call them supershows despite just being overglorified house shows.

Im listening to the Jericho podcast right now and he and Mark Henry are talking about how much of a pain in the ass it was to work The Garden. Trucks and busses cant pull down and park underneath it so wrestlers had to park across the street with fans who harassed them and performers weren't allowed to handle "furniture" like folding chairs backstage and MSG had their own special guys who had to come set up the ring and they took forever. Sounds like they're glad to be done with MSG.

ROH/NJPW selling out the Garden is a huge deal and Vince did care since he tried to block it from happening. When was the last time a non WWE/WWF/WWWF wresting show happened in the Garden.......has it ever happened?

For the longest time WWE had an exclusive deal with the Garden since that was their home during Vince Sr.’s days. Also I think this is a huge dead because isn’t this show the Saturday before Mania? Competing against Takeover not the Hall of Fame?

That would be correct.

If the Supershow is the 6th, it’s on Friday, Takeover would be Saturday.

Further clarification, WWE blocked a previous MSG/ROH event, not this one. Vince eats this up. He’ll let the ROH/NJPW stars shine, then pluck anyone he wants minus Cody. And might even get him back.

If Vince was so concerned about MSG still, he wouldn’t book the actual important NYC events at Barclays

The WWE isn't end all be all of making money in wrestling anymore and some guys would probably be taking a pay cut signing with the WWE.

Looked it up. As of right now, y’all are right. Takeover would be the 6th.

Regardless, I bet Barclays sells out for NXT with more tickets sold. Unless Fox ruins NXT (which I dunno when they takeover)

Agree with the first part, not sure the second part is accurate though
The Young Bucks make a crap ton from their merchandise. Cody stated that he made more money his first year on indies than his best year in the WWE. It won't be worth it for Kenny Omega, Cody and The Bucks to sign unless they get top guy money and they get a big chunk of money from their merchandise sales.

Rhodes was all over the map in the indies working crazy amounts. You think he’s making his WWE money with his ROH contract? I’ve read the Young Bucks make mid card WWE money

As far as the Bucks go was that just there ROH/ New Japan contracts or did it include their merch sales too?
