The Worley or Peterman Era

noticed rivals bumped Peterman up from 3 to 4 stars.
I thought worley played reasonably well last year, but nowhere near as well as Bray did as a true freshmen.

Let's not forget that Bray had 2 SR WR, 1 SR TE, and Justin Hunter. None of which Worley had last year. Not to say that Worley is or will be better than Bray, but their freshman years are not an apples to apples comparison.

I think it'll be a shootout between them. I didn't see either of them with the moxie of slash in his freshman year (Worley last year and Peterman on highlight reels). But let's admit it, Bray is a freak.

Wrong. Time will tell

Right, time will yell. Worley is a system QB and Peterman isn't.. as long as we win I don't care who qbs but Peterman has the better overall makeup to be a very good qb. Jmo and others who rate them. But nobody has a clue. Just from film from both in HS Nathan was much more impressive.

Once Tyler Bray becomes Peyton Manning, and his time here is done. I was wonder from what we have seen who do you see being Tennessee's future QB? I like Worley but he is a little out of control with his passes. I also like what i see from Nathan but he is still in highschool. Please input Volnation please be generous. Im still new to this site.
Go Vols!!

A little out of control with his passes= freshman

Worley will be fine. He has great arm talent, and made some great throws. Sure he made mistakes, but you trying playing in the SEC at 18. Hopefully Peterman takes a redshirt this year and we can get a year between these guys.

the 98 season was a magical season, tee was great in high school. and he played outstanding in the sc game. but tee wasnt a great qb. he put a lot and i mean a lot of air under the ball. Make no mistake, Defense and two great TBs, plus outstanding WRs won that championship. Tee deserves his credit, he was part of the team and contributed. just saying.

Why people credit Tee With winning us the NC is beyond me. It was defense first, then travis henry, travis stephens and jamal lewis that won us that NC.

Tee was a good enough passer to keep the opposing defenses from putting 9 in the box. But he didn't even get more than 2500 yds passing

Probably with a little thing called leadership, yeah he had a great team but I have seen many great teams falter due to weak leadership and vice versa

didn't manning have same team year before????

Worley will do to Bray what Bray did to Simms

Really? Why would that happen and why would you even entertain that thought? Oh hey, I have an idea let's lose some games then switch QB's again... Take it back:clapping:

Although there is only one Peyton Manning, there is also only one Tee Martin. (He was the one that won us a National Championship.) :)

True Dat as far as being the QB but, was one of many members that were a complete team. I'm very hopefully all of the 2012 members will learn how to become a team so that Bray can continue to shine.

Worley will be the backup this year no matter how good Peterman looks. Peterman will redshirt, hopefully, and will be here for a long time. Worley will get his shot but I can see Peterman surpassing Worley in 2 seasons.

Only 4 QBs in Vol History did that.

Well said. Important factor to remember is the maturity level, some have it sooner than others. Met Worley at the Spring Game and what really impressed me the most was how mature he was for his age. He really knew how to handle the crowd, you would have thought he was an experienced senior. Don't know many 17 year olds that confident and polished.

Course his play on the field is what matters and compared to Bray he did not do as well as a Freshman. But I got to think his emotional intelligence will bode well for him and allow his physical ability to start coming through. He showed flashes of it and remember he had some key dropped passes last year.

I'll be pulling for him when he gets his chance!

Wouldn't be so sure about that. Peterman is supposed to possess the leadership skills a qb needs that Bray has yet to show . Dooley has no problem blowing a RS and with Peterman in school already he very easily could pass Worley. Don't think a RS is a given. In a perfect world he will but its far from that.

Worley & Peterman are Dooley's recruits. Bray was a mid term Kiffen recruit. If Bray has any issues I don't think Dooley would hesitate to make a change. Hopefully he won't have to.

Worley has a year on Peterman and SEC game experience. Let's allow Peterman his rs before he starts over anyone.
