The Weightlifters Thread

That was the main reason I posted the video. When I saw it yesterday I knew it would get a laugh.

Haha, nice. I didn't watch it to the end until now. The video is great, but there's only so much carnage I can take. Climactic ending!

For those who remember and/or care about the conversation concerning my broken wrist....

I saw the doctor today. He told me most healing happens in the first 6 weeks (with or without a cast, but cast more likely). He said that being a few months out, and in light of the fact that I'm inhibited little he said wait a year and see if the pain goes away. If not, see a specialist about surgery.

I'm happy with my decision. If I'd had it casted up in October I'd have been out probably a couple G's at a time when I couldn't afford it. The way I'm set up now, the surgeon won't cost me any money out of pocket.

Also, he gave me a cortizone shot for my rotator. Hopefully that takes care of the pain I've had there. Crappy thing is I can't go to the gym for a few days.

I remember you saying something about your rotator cuff, but dang about the wrist. Good luck to the recovery.

Yeah, it's just a microfracture. It was weird how it went down. I took a hard grounder off the wrist, and like a week later I abruptly pushed up off the ground and that triggered the break (or this is when I noticed it). It's really not that big of a deal. I can't really lean on my palm, but that's the only action that hurts. I can bench press pain free, which I think is weird.

That is weird that you can still bench, relax a little and good luck in getting back to 100%.

Started my cut yesterday. I'm 6' 215-220 at the moment. Probably 16-17% BF... I'd like to get down to around 12% or so. Not much experience in cutting but I'm determined haha. We shall see I guess

Ramp up fiber intake. Most people pound protein but don't add any fiber.

I love legs day! I just hate lunges. Lunges are the devil.

Today is arms day. My reward for making it through the week.

Do you guys write down your workouts and track them from week to week? I have been, but it's a total pain in the arse.

I did a total body circuit last night. Boot camp style. I am dead today. Whooped is an understatement.

20 Reps rear delt flys
100 Jumping jacks
20 Kettlebell swings each arm
15 Reps dumbell flat bench flys superset with 15 reps dumbell presses (same weight)
20 Goblet squats
15 Reps each arm hammer curls
20 Lateral raises
20 Reps standing reverse grip tricep extensions with a band
20 Reps leg extensions
20 Reps each arm dumbell curls
15 Reps Lying Triceps Dumbell Extensions
2:00 Sprint on the treadmill (last one was embarassing, more like a jog LOL)

Repeated that 3 times. Really wanted to try and push myself yesterday. By the third round I was crawling. Almost puked. Not fun but very effective.

Yes. I have records from the past 5 years. Meticulous records for the last 2-3. I get it from my Dad. He's a runner. He's been tracking for decades. His goal was circumference of earth. He's got over 1000 miles left and he's 62, so it's questionable if he'll reach it.

Your dad is a slacker.

One of the most amazing things about it is that my Dad is one of the least talented runners on the planet. I think he has some ankle injury from football that curbed his ability, but even still, he's slow. He ran like 11 marathons and never broke the 4-hour mark (3-hours is sort of the bench-mark for serious runners). I would blow my brains out running 25K miles, especially at that pace.
