The Weightlifters Thread

Once in a great while I will, even just a little bit and deal with the consequences. Or when I'm drunk. I only have fast food half a dozen times a year.

I remember eating Wendy's after going months without fast food. A horrible decision. I've ate like crap the last couple weeks and feel terrible.

Thrasher, Chavis is probably right. Sounds like to me you should try to eat more. Then again I can't remember, are you trying to bulk or get ripped? If you want to build more muscle you need more protein IMO. Do you know about how many grams of protein you get daily?

Do not eat fast food unless you are completely unable to avoid it. That stuff is your enemy. The pink slime stories can always change your mind on how much you want that crap...

The biggest craving I ever had for a Big Mac came after I watched Super Size Me. mmmmmmmmm but then I felt like **** and that was that.

Honestly, I got the gym membership to lose weight, then decided, screw it, I'm gonna build a little and then lose the fat.

I'm neither looking to get ripped or build a lot of mass. Just bulk up a tiny bit and get into a little better shape.

I've been eating between 3,500 and 4,000 calories a day, and taking in an additional 32g of protein with breakfast and 32g of protein just before working out at lunch. I haven't tracked the protein in my meals, though.

When I eat fast food, it's not like a big mac or taco bell. Today, I had a Wendy's spicy chicken casear salad. Still not that healthy, but really not bad for fast food.

Should I take protein before bed, do ya think?

Take casein protein if you're getting some in before bedtime. It digests slower than whey. Optimum Nutrition (ON) makes a good one.

The only supplements I take are protein, amino acids, and a multivitamin. I used to use pre-workout supps, but I stopped. Jack3d works for me but it made me jittery hours after working out. Now the only caffeine I get is from coffee in the morning. It's a habit I don't think I can break. Otherwise, I'm a freaking zombie. I hate mornings. I really enjoy lifting and working out once I get going and have the habit set in. The part I hate is the diet and counting all the calories. It's fuggin annoying.

Girlfriend just told me that she bought p90x2 for me. We have the first one as well but I haven't completed the cycle on the first one start to finish. I have done all the workouts though. Anybody used number two yet? Thoughts?

I'm doing p90x2 right now. It's a little different than the first. A whole lot more balancing while lifting and doing other exercises. A whole lot more ab work with it too. I like it. It's a good change up from normal free weights

Thanks. I think we'll get in the mail this week. I've been doing things much different than the standard free weight workouts lately. I like the change of pace. :hi:

I think I may start doing Insanity after work for cardio. I know it's tough, but maybe I can lose weight and build muscle mass if I just eat a lot and do crap tons of cardio.

Make sure you have a stability ball, and at least 2 medicine balls. You'll use them in almost every workout. You don't have to get them, but a lot of the exercises in the workouts use them.

Last time I did Insanity, I got shin splints after a few weeks and had to stop.

Those workouts are extremely tough. Last time I did one of those I couldn't complete it. I missed the last five minutes of the workout. I couldn't get off the floor. Laying in a pool of sweat and shame. LOL. It's great for cardio work.

If you're not getting stronger, you're probably not eating enough. Save your money from a pwo and buy more food.
