The Weightlifters Thread

Getting up early is tough, but it's always worth it after a good workout. This morning was legs.

What are some of yalls leg workouts? I like to keep it simple. Mine:

Squats
Leg Press
Leg Extensions
Leg Curls
Deadlifts
Calfs

Walk briskly .5 miles
Leg Extensions
Leg Press/Squats/ or Front Squats
Hack squats/Sissy Squats/or Leg Press with feet together
Straight Leg DL's/or Lunges
Lying Leg Curls/Seated Leg Curls/or Jefferson Squats
Seated Calves/Standing Calves/or Donkey Raises

And I did legs yesterday, experimenting with form on Straight Leg DL's. I'd say there's merit to both locking out and using a slight bend. I felt like the slight bend gave me more of a focus on the lower part of the hamstring muscle, and straights worked the whole muscle better.

Bought a new kind of protein powder earlier this week, and I have to say...it is by far the best tasting I've ever had. It is Cinnabun Trutein.

Trutein by TruNutrition Sciences

I know taste is at the low end of importance, but the profile on it is good, so good taste is an added bonus. I'd highly recommend.

The cut is going well too. Down 7 pounds in ~4 weeks. I've been wanting pizza or a big burger so bad, but I haven't given in.

Do you have a routine? Like on days you do press, you do hack squats? Or you just mix it all up

I just try to change it up and keep it balanced. If I do front squats, I like to follow it with hack squats, because fronts are imbalanced towards quads, and hacks are more hamstrings. But mostly it's just about changing it up to shock the muscles and hit them from different angles.

+100.

Mix 2 raw eggs, milk and asparagus in a food processor and drink during your workout. Then run 8 miles after your workout.

You will not be soar.

I would only do a few exercises, say squat and leg press. You do not want to over do it since this is the first time in 7 weeks. You will be sore for a days, maybe more.

I'm usually the sorest on the the 3rd day after doing legs for the first time in a while. Anybody else like this?

For what purpose?

For gaining weight and muscle mass. Just wanted to know what generally was the best supplements for that goal.

I play football and always obviously am attempting to get bigger and stronger. I am in college and have been working out fairly consistently since the season ended a few months ago.

I haven't been taking any supplements, but was going to start now.
