The Walking Dead

First they were 2 feet away in a cracked trunk. Lol But zombies generally have a great sense of smell and hearing, the eyes tend to be the weak sense. Example Michonne walks around with 2 walkers, other walkers look at her and can't distinguish her being different. Zombie Michonne looked at her repeatedly and couldn't tell she was human, because the walkers were covering her scent. I would imagine their foggy looking eyes hinder their eye sight. Conversely I'd assume fresh flesh probably is as distinct to them, as decaying flesh is to us.

Stop trolling miss Jerry. :p

See what happens when they give us a slow episode? We debate zombie senses and bites. Lol

You trolling is what we get when you feel an episode is slow. :)

Just dropping knowledge ma'am, you need to study Zombie history before the Z.A. happens. Cause I will not save you, unless you are a hot chick. Google is your friend. :)

My zombie apocalypse will be different from yours apparently. I won't have human sniffing zombies that can find you stuffed into a trunk.

You should be afraid of YOUR zombie apocalypse.

To be fair only my Zombie Apocalypse matters. :)

I think the trunk provided adequate cover. Remember in the season 2 opener they hid under cars when the herd passed by. I don't think they have blood hound sniffers.

In all honesty I think Michone walking in a pack of them made less sense. Just because she has two zombies on a leash 5 feet away shouldn't mask her scent.

Also there was a storm so maybe the water took away the scent. Who knows.

do we know much about how zombies are in water? only ones that really come to mind are the one in the well at Herchel's place, and the one that was chained underwater that rick saw (though I can't remember much about that short scene)

also, are zombies attracted to fire (like bugs to light) or just the brightness/sound it causes? This question comes mainly from Glenn throwing the Molotov onto the car a few episodes ago, but also from when beth and darryl lit the house on fire

Right before the Gov chopped off Hershels head, the one got in the creek and got swept away. They can't drown, but their motor skills are crap so they can't swim either.

I'm guessing sound/brightness, that shack would have been making a crazy amount of noise as it collapsed on itself. I'm pretty sure burning that in the middle of the woods, would cause a rather large forest fire as well. Lol

I remember that scene, I thought it was a little janky too, to be honest. Not saying they can smell miles away, but zombies usually can sniff humans out fairly decent.

It did make less sense I was just using it to show how crappy their eye sight is. But hey like VolsFan kinda said things are the way they are because the producers say so. Lol

Purdy much.

I guess you could say each zombie is different, just like people. Some smell, see, and/or hear better than others. Some of it may be if they are already moving in one direction. Its not like they are critical thinkers.

In the comics they had two types. The walkers who actively roamed around looking for food. And the lurkers who just laid there until something living came along.

Makes sense.

I still need to read the comics.

Yep; and they talked about how the roamers formed herds because many of them just started following other roamers.

Yeah, trying to use logic or real world physics in any zombie show and 95% of zombies would be dead within 6 months or less. Think of all the weather (extreme heat or cold), decomposition, natural disasters, physical landmarks like mountains/rivers/islands/etc that they'd have to get over or deal with. And that's not even counting the wild animals that would have a new source of easy food. Humans are easy enough to kill already. Take away our intelligence and what little mobility we have and we're one of the squishiest animals on the planet.

Luckily for zombies none of these things are in the Walking Dead world. Comfortable weather and only squirrels, rats, and the occasional snake roaming around. :)

Somebody needs to make the Natural Disaster/Zombie flick. That would be epic. Maybe throw in some bears tearing through a herd.
