The VN workout thread!

see, i use to get all the FLEX, Muscle Development, Mens Fitness etc. there is no way that they give the whole workout. What's funny is they'll have Jay Cutler's workout one month, well I bought the Jay to Z dvd. his workouts were forever long

I couldn't agree more. Those things are good every once in a while, but they leave out so much of what those guys do and take.
 
started back hittin the gym this wkend. only been 3 times in the previous 3 wks. started the paleo diet last wk, no joke went from 245 down to 240 in one wk no cardio with this diet. i'm need to lose a lil fat and then bulk back up.
 
I've been working our recently also. I generally lift somewhere between 72 and 144oz. at least 2 times during the week. Because of the Holliday, I was able to put in some extra reps this weekend.
 
i'm slowly getting back into it as well. But sometimes life gets in the way and you gotta choose the other option than the gym...YOU FEEL ME???
 
2 hrs at football,running,lifting weights etc...come home,rest for 30 minutes,run 3 miles

I would suggest that you try Healthe' trim and their products. I have been taking them for a little over a week and have lost 10 lbs with no cardio. I am not fat either 6'0" 210, but this stuff is amazing. Also I use the plex that they have and it has given me such a better work out and this is coming from a creatine junkie.
 
Since my wife told me she was expecting, Ive gained 10 pounds. I guess its because we go eat at all the places she wouldnt go to before because of her diet. So I guess what Im saying is, I might need to mix in a jog or two in between my normal 12oz curls.
 
Question: I have been doing mass/strength building for a long time now. For example on the bench I've been going 10, 8, 6, 4 on my sets.

I'm thinking about switching it up for a few months on going with lighter weight and a ton of reps. For example on bench I'm thinking about dropping down to using 65 lb DB and going 4 sets of 15 reps. I'm planning do doing this for most exercises as well as upping the cardio (which I don't do a lot of).

I'm currently 5'11 w/o shoes and 200 lbs. I don't have much fat but would like to decrease some around the abs.

Is this going to kill my muscle mass??
 
if you up your cardio, and do lighter weight more reps your goin to lean up. your diet has a lot to do with it tho

I know I'm going to lose some mass doing this. I wouldn't mind dropping a good 5/10 lbs.

I'm also partly doing this because I feel like my shoulders are a little worn down.
 
I know I am probably going at it wrong but I have only been doing a total upper body circut about every 4 days and haven't been doing any leg workouts for the last month. I have been doing extended cardio (running, bikeing, swimming or a combo) 4 or 5 days a week. I have been saving my legs for the cardio because I am training for a sprint triathlon. I have 3 more weeks to prepare for the race. I feel like my legs get a pretty good workout with all the running and bikeing. I am not looking to build mass anyway. I juat want to tone up a little.
 
I hate squats and lunges. But there's nothing better to work your butt. Guys probably don't care about that though. lol
 
Anybody got any workout plans they want to suggest. I finished one about 3 weeks ago and I have become kinda stagnant at the gym these past few days. Thanks!!!
 
been doin p90x cardio and then doing high reps at the gym. i was 260 at christmas, but have leaned up to 225 now. paleo diet plus p90x cardio. i def don't want to be any lighter. bein 6'7 i'd look like a skeleton if i was 215

You still suggest x-rep and x-stream lean? How did those work out for you? I have read up on it a little, and it has peaked my interest.

I have been using freetrainers.com. Been doing ok with that, but I am looking for a little more of a challenge! I have dropped from 245 down to 210. Need to lose some more body fat then start getting ripped.
