The VN workout thread!

Anyone do high-intensity interval training? I was planning on incorporating it into my weekly routine anyway but it turns out I have to do it 3X a week for one of my classes. It's supposed to provide great benefits like more fat burning and muscle mass retention but the first few times I did it I felt like I was going to pass out.

Does NOexplode work well for you? right now im on cytogainer from the company who makes muscle milk.

Certainly helps when I'm trying to add some strength. some people say when you get off it you lose some strength. Maybe a little but not enough to offset benefits.

I'll use if for six weeks or two months and then I wont take it again for another 6 weeks to two months.

Last monday I was doing some leg presses (last exercise for legs) and on the last set i got this horrible throbbing feeling behind my head. It's around where the spine connects to the skull...So i left the gym and went back that Tuesday, started out with the lat pulldown...throbbing started again. Took off the entire week and started back yesterday with Bis and Tris, samething! My primary physician wants me to stop working out and to see him on Thursday morning...this sucks. Pretty sure he's gonna refer me to a neurologist...

That sucks man. Hope it's nothing serious. The same sort of thing happened to me in HS when I was benching once. In the middle of a rep I suddenly got this terrible headache that lasted over a day. The doctor didn't really do much but say to stop lifting for a few weeks.

That was maybe 6 years ago and I haven't had it happen again but the worst part is my bench hasn't really gone up since then. I think I have a mental block. Anyway, I've since figured my problem was from improper breathing while trying to force out a rep.

Could be as simple as a pinched nerve... hopefully.

well, I got a appointment yesterday about my headaches, doc wants me to get a MRI tomorrow...so we'll see what it shows!

watch u'll get the mri done tomorrow and wait a wk or 2 for the results. down at UAB i got an MRI and had the results in my hand walking back to the doc. office 30 mins later.

nice, my doc and the MRI are at the same hospital...so hopefully i'll get the results fast.

Well, I've lost about 10 or so pounds in the last three to four weeks. Everyday has consisted of either swimming, biking or running. about 5-10 more pounds hopefully before the 17th.

you need to check out and see if there is a crossfit gym in your area. you want to lose weight and get in shape, i mean really good shape check out crossfit. here is the crossfit gym here in huntsville, have some friends that are doing it they love it.

LoL, I hope the hospital you are going to is better than the one here. My grandmother was in ICU and needed a mri and they done it a 9 in the morning and they got the results at 3:30 in the afternoon...

I wish they had something like that in my area. I go to LA Fitness. They do have a "boot camp" training class they do twice a week but the times don't fit my schedule. That's more what I'm looking for. I want a balance of strength and conditioning. I'm not looking into building huge mass.

started the Paleo diet this morning. this is goin to suck, but w/ working out i think this is a good combo for the lean/more defined look.

M&F has a workout from what Hugh Jackman did for the movie Wolverine...what's weird is that it's only a 3 day split...

see, i use to get all the FLEX, Muscle Development, Mens Fitness etc. there is no way that they give the whole workout. What's funny is they'll have Jay Cutler's workout one month, well I bought the Jay to Z dvd. his workouts were forever long

yeah...considering Jay is a professional, all he does is eat and works out...and of course the occasional steroid shot. I guess i'm just more into the fitness of working out and not so much in the bodybuilding.
