The VN workout thread!

ya the wkends were what was killin me. now i allow myself one cheat meal a wk, usually on the wkends. i lift weights 5 days a wk and do cardio 4 days(my 2 off days, and 2 more)

that's cool. What are your goals? I'm currently 5'11 - 173lbs trying to put on a few more lbs and rip the abs.

personally i've always wanted to be jacked. problem is i'm 6'8. weighed 220 my last yr of ball which was 2 and a half yrs ago. got fat afterwards at 265, currently at 247. want to gain 20-30 lbs of lean mass in the immediate future. honestly just want to get under 10% bf. get a thicker back, legs, and bigger arms of course. my shoulders and arms have come a long nicely the last 3 months. just gotta get off some fat. what's ur diet like?

basically high proteins and a decent amount of carbs (i've actually cut some carbs to cut the abs)

Meal 1: Protein Shake (2 scoops), 1 banana
Meal 2: 2 cups FF or lowfat cottage cheese w/ apple sauce, 1 high fiber oatmeal bar
Meal 3: 6-8oz chicken breast with 2 cups brown rice w/ less sodium soy sauce.
Meal 4: (2) 1/4 cups of tuna w/ multigrain crackers - may add several slices of whole wheat bread.
Meal 5: Pre-workout - (1 scoop) Protein Shake w/ 1 apple
Meal 6: Post-Workout - Peanut butter / banana shake. Which includes little more than half of a banana, 2-3 tablespoons of FF yogurt, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 1 cup ice, 3oz. of water.

not bad at all. I use to make turkey wraps, they were awesome until i got burnt out. How does your workout go, you make them up yourself, magazines, trainers, etc.

I am doing something drastic, I am going to do nothing but push ups, pull ups, sit ups dips and run.

i've been liftin since 8th grade, i just kinda go w/ what my body tells me.

ex. today i have shoulders my routine will be as follows

DB shoulder press 1x10, 1x8, 4x6
Cable lat raises 1x8 4x6
Cable front raises 1x8, 4x6
bent over raises 4x6
upright row 4x6
reverse flye 4x6
shrugs 4x25

My problem is my diet, I dont eat enough and when I do, I eat the wrong foods. I dont even know where to begin with my diet, and I like all kinds of foods. I think I will at least try and eat breakfast on a daily basis.

pretty similar of what i do. The workout i'm doing now is basically all supersets...wears you down quick especially when the sets are 3-4 and reps 15-20

yeah, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which i'm sure you've heard that one plenty of times. Have you looked on bodybuilding.com?

I know, i rest about 7-8x thoughout the entire workout. Which is a lot less for when i started it about 2 weeks ago. I'm determined to go all the way through it...may take a while tho...

i am. They are lot stronger and able to last through the first couple of exercises of the 'Ab RipperX' (P90X's name for their ab workout). But visible wise, a little, not alot, so that will take more time. Also the workout helps strengthen my hip flexors, which i'm really weak on.
