The VN workout thread!

ya, we took an anabolic steroid one summer, me him and another roommate/teammate. we each had diff. side effects and quit asap. our other roommate cld not stop sweating, my boy had the runs again, and i honestly thought my heart was going to implode. i did one warm up set one day and thought i literally was going to die. they said i turned white. scary

thinking about getting on some Cellmass from BSN...anyone ever use anything from BSN before?

I've used NO-xplode. Didn't do much for me but I know 2-3 friends that say it's great. BSN makes good products in general though. Their protein powder syntha-6 is supposedly great.

Guess it wouldn't hurt just try one out and see for myself. I just ordered a subscription of muscle and fitness online...some good reads right there.

Speaking of creatine, I just ordered Universal Storm, which was cheap and had mostly good reviews. Anyone else have any luck with creatine? I've tried probably 4-5 different kinds with mostly minimal gains. Green Mag is another I looked into and heard good things about.

No-Xplode is a pre-workout creatine mix while Cellmass is post.

I've used both and liked them. I currently use Pump Fuel which is actually better than Xplode IMO.

Got a muscle and fitness subscription a couple of days ago. Good reads! Good reads indeed!

I wrestled in highschool and all I did was cut out Cokes and cut down on food portions and I lost 20 pounds over the course of a season. I've really let go though

I wrestled in highschool also. I would be 30lb above my weight class at the beginning of Oct and was able to make weight by our first matches after Thanksgiving.(alot of starving and running in a solar suit) It was really stupid on my part. All I was doing was destroying all the muscle building I had done in the off season. I wish I knew then what I know now. I cut out most of my protien because I wouldn't eat hardly andy meat during the season and I didn't take any type of suppliments. My bench max going into my jr and sr year was 275 lb. once wrestling season was over my max was down to 225 lb. Young and dumb.

have fun. u ever heard of x-rep? i bought 2 of their e-books "Beyond X" and "Ultimate Mass Workout". i started the "Ultimate Mass Workout" this week. all i have to say is i've never been as physically drained w/ my muscles actually shaking. xreps are unbelieveable

i think you've asked me about it before. I've read a little on it. I'm actually doing the workout that's in the new muscle n fitness magazine. Which takes me forever in the gym...I'll be in the gym for about 2 hrs. for just myself, no workout partner. So i may drop a few exercises, haven't decided yet.

i use to train one body part a day, and spend an hour or more on each body part. very slow gains.

x-rep you do less sets, you train like 2-3 body parts a day, and by the time ur done you are literally spent. the Ultimate Mass Workout book has like 5-6 diff workouts depending on ur experience level and how many times a wk u want to train. i'm on a 5 day routine. i spend an hour lifting tops a day and actually get more done. i honestly can't explain the feeling even a few days after your first xrep workout.

I actually searched about x-reps after reading this. I just got done with a workout and tried some for a couple of my sets and I can definitely feel it. I'm gonna give these a try for the next few weeks since I've kinda plateaued lately and have been looking for something new. Thanks for bringing these to my attention Mania.

i found the book online, so i'll have to read up on it. You said there are 5-6 workouts. Which one are you doing?

in the ultimate mass workout book, i'm doing the very last one. it's a mon-fri, but is only 3 workouts. ex. mon workout 1, tue workout 2, wed workout 3, thur 1, fri 2. next monday 3, etc. i'm loving it, disappointed today and tomorrow are cardio only days for me. yest i did legs, nothing like working ur legs so much that you feel like you can barely walk
