Follow the instructions on the back of the package. It will give the option to use butter or oil, use the olive oil. I think it's 2 tbls.
This is what I do. Put 2 tbls olive oil in the pot. Dice 3 garlic cloves and drop in the oil. Put the pan on low heat until the garlic starts to simmer. After the garlic starts to get just a little brown, add the instructed amount of water and turn the heat to high. When the water starts boiling add the rice, cover and turn the heat to low. Check and stir every 2-3 minutes. It should just barely bubble. I think the instructions say 15-20 minute ccok time. About 10 minutes into cooking add onion ( cut them in about 1" pieces) when the water is absorbed it's done. Chop up your chicken in bite sized pieces and mix in. Salt and pepper to your taste.
You can also just add the water to the pot, add the oil and drop 3-4 whole cloves in the water with the rice. It's good either way, I just like the roasted flavor better.
