The unthinkable..

I hope you are not in sales because your delivery is terrible.

But the last time we had a starter go down like this we enjoyed 4 years of Manning.

Early 4th quarter, UT is up 20-13 against UF, and has a 2nd and goal from the Gator 6 yd line...

Dobbs takes the snap and rides Hurd into the line as multiple Gators converge on the dive play. At the last possible moment of deception Dobbs pulls the ball away as he sees the DE crashing into Hurd. Like so many times before, there is an opening to the right side of the line as Dobbs escapes to daylight. All blocks are sealed as he gallops towards a coffin nailing touchdown. Just prior to crossing the goal line an eager and defiant Gator defender releases from a block and with a last gasp effort dives towards the end zone bound Dobbs. Simultaneously, as Dobbs right leg sets footing over the goal line, the Gator defenders helmet meets the side of Dobbs right knee, tearing the ACL of the Vols Senior QB...

Most vol fans don't want to imagine such a tragic scene, but we all know, it's in the realm of possibilities and in the back of most fan's minds...

Thoughts of where the game and season go from that point.....who is next up and what impact, if any, they have going forward?

Our defense holds against Florida.
We win
Dobbs Redshirts

Dormady then lights it up. Only losing to Bama.

And that bothered people why?

Probably just the dramatization of the injury. I think everyone knows that injuries are always possible at any moment on the football field. Shoot, an injury ended my football career, broken femur. Worst pain I could ever imagine and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It's one of those things where it's just an unspoken understanding that injuries are a possibility. Think about it this way. If I went up to one of my good friends and said, "Hey man, what would happen to our team if you were to cross the goal line against our most hated opponent and in dramatic fashion tore your acl to help us win. Do you think we'd be ok without you the rest of the season?" That's kinda how I see it.

I would get another keep it classy message and probably banned for life if I post what I think.

There are some unspoken rules in all sports. Don't talk to the pitcher throwing a no hitter, don't say good putt before the ball is in the hole and don't talk about injuries that haven't happened.

We will talk about it all day long if it actually happens. No need to speculate on these types of scenarios.

Exactly.

What if I punched my head through my computer because someone put such a specific and atrocious scenario in my head for no apparent reason?

Better hope this doesn't come to pass or some real die hards here will take it that you personally jinxed the VOLS. They'll eventually find you and may God have mercy on you. :)

No, it's a real question...

Anybody who says they haven't thought of this real possibility is a liar or not a UT football fan...

I have dreams of National titles like everyone else, and with that said...it's a relevant question..

Classic case if retardation right here.

If it happens, I will look back on this thread and once and for all, know who the real and true Nostradumbass really is.

This person needs to throw salt over their shoulder, knock on wood, say a little prayer, find a four leaf clover and anything else that will fix this crap.

I mean seriously? Why would you even put this idea out there?

We cross such bridges when we come to them, and ONLY when we come to them. Right now, all I am thinking about is you and I attending the running of the bulls. And you falling in front of the biggest and meanest.
