Let’s start with metrics that affect the majority of Americans.
3 quick metrics I have noticed in the last week:

Paid 2.09 for gas at my last fill up.

30 large eggs under $5.00 at the local Food Lion.

Supplemental retirement accounts gained $20,000 in the last quarter of 2025.

What policy position of Trump has led to any of those metrics?

Gas - Not attacking energy and refineries on Day1 like Biden. So, his inaction did much more to help energy prices than Biden's action. Biden poured gas on the simmering inflationary fire he inherited when he went after energy immediately.

Eggs - Yeah, that has nothing to do with Trump

I have no idea. I just listed some metrics that I have noticed have improved.

I didn’t credit Trump for the good, or blame Biden for the bad.

The Poster just asked about “metrics that affect the majority of Americans”, and I listed my experience with three that I thought were fairly universal and significant for the average American.

Edit: TBH, pragmatically, I don’t really care about policy as much as results. If things are going well for my family, I like it; if not, I don’t.

I wanna play.

My utilities now outpace my mortgage in monthly cost for the first time ever.

My health insurance premiums are increasing 80%, my deductibles are increasing, as well as OOP costs and copays.

Weekly grocery trips for my family of 4 have gone from $200-$300 up to $400-$500.

Oh, and I paid 3.30/gallon

2 of those three things are caused by governmental policies before, during and after Trump.

My groceries bill has remained the same for months, so may be your area specifically

So the economic growth, job market, personal income, lower taxes, and higher markets, dont improve the welfare of the citizens?. Thats a good one.

What exactly could the President do? Be specific.
I’ll address yours when you address the metrics I brought up first.

That helped a little on gas prices but not as much as some think. Gas prices are largely determined by supply/demand, and of course the futures market

lol. No its not. Trumps moronic tariffs are a big part of the problem. Costs are up for everyone. Enjoy the new tax.
Your delusional. The economy is doing better than at any point during the Biden Administration.

I went to a local sports card show a week ago tomorrow and it was packed. The guy that runs it said they had record attendance around 400 attendees the best since starting the show 2 years ago and the dealers pretty much said record sales across the board. I went to Walmart afterward the parking lot packed. I filled up my tank and paid the lowest price in probably 3.5 years.

My local grocery has had a dozen eggs for $0.69 the last couple of weeks another store 30 miles away has them for $0.99. A gallon of Milk is down as well.

Absolutely agree. Futures market would be impacted by tone/tenor of admin.

Going after oil, pipelines, and refineries on D1 (without a fallback plan) was one of the reasons inflation exploded under Biden...

Yeah, my utilities are ridiculous, too. Those, I do blame Biden for, as they skyrocketed under his admin, I gather because of “green” policies.

I was shocked this year that my insurance costs actually went down for better coverage.

I can’t see how my experience is the norm, and I don’t believe it did, but I now pay $20 less a month for “medical necessity” coverage, as opposed to limited visits.

I will never understand that market.

I can’t really speak to groceries. My overall bill has gone down, but I think that is because I now have one on a meal plan at college and another g-tube fed as he hasn't yet learned to swallow consistently after his accident.

We also started buying 1/4 or 1/2 cows for beef and are stocked with venison, so we save considerably over time on overall protein costs. Smarter shopping also means peeling our own onions ($0.69/lb) vs buying pre-peeled onions ($2.99/lb!!!) But man, drinks and snacks are crazy expensive.

That sucks. Assuming Ohio? Has it stayed consistent or has it come down at all these last couple months?

Yeah, we buy a whole pig and a 1/4 side of beef, and I filled 3 deer tags this year, so that certainly helps, but still the basics (to us) are out of control expensive.

I lived in Ohio once upon a time, I’m currently in western PA. My wife and I are both in healthcare and lived in the Tri Cities for around a decade, but once the healthcare system there was monopolized and our wages stagnated, it made sense for us to move somewhere with a comparable COL and considerably higher wages, so the Pittsburgh area fit that bill.
