The Trump Effect

so you are against gov't involvement in something that actually helps the country's grid (which is in bad shape) and at the same time does not lose the gov't any money. You are anti win-win scenarios?

If the .gov borrows at 5% and Constellation has a 2% rate, that is the very definition of losing money.

Yes, Im against the govt's involvement. I am against the .gov regulating nuclear to the extent that it wasnt viable and Im against them subsidizing it with below market rates...

Im for Trump admin reducing regulatory barriers to nuclear...

One other Trump Effect is that a family that is a standard bearer of Conservative and Republicans values rejected Trump's attendance at a major funeral. They see Trump for what he is, a con man and a traitor to the country in every way.

economy doing well, job market is getting better. Your TDS will not allow you to see Biden left Trump the biggest mess any outgoing administration left another. Job market was in the toilet under Biden, almost 2 million fake jobs revised downward under Biden.
Bloomberg, because of all the downward job revisions, declared recession started in April 2024. Remarkable what Trump has done is such a short time. Next year the economy really gets going. it's going to be yuuuge

Not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that the US govt shouldn't be in the business of lending money to private ventures. Period.
This is not just a company using the money to invest in itself for its own personal gain...this is an investment in the country. This country needs many more nuclear reactors and the gov't cannot build them so the gov't needs outside private firms to build them. This is not squandering money on green scams or a cash give way in subsidies to able-bodied people that do not want to work or a give away to illegals.......

Bushes and Cheneys were/are part of the gov't system. Look at all the leftist at the funeral....too much 'reaching across the isle' by Rep as Bush/Cheney. The system hates outsiders like Trump. Trump is not in it to make money off of endless wars.

He's not a warmonger like Cheney but the MIC still loves Trump and that huge increase to the DoD (DoW) budget....

My investment accounts love PLTR and RTX for sure...

Then the govt needs to reduce the costs burden to build them, not loan money for them to be built. I'm a huge supporter of nuclear energy and would love to see more plants come on line.

Nah, this racket is direct personal gain through fake Bibles, fake watches, fake crypto, hats, steaks, and the sale of pardons.

He, unlike the military industrial complex, is unsophisticated in his con game. He's no better than a crackhead mugger in downtown NYC.

Damn Monica, you on a roll this morning..

Im for nuclear. They can get a private loan for this. Once again, 100B market cap company so it shouldnt be hard for them to get a market rate loan if it makes economic sense. Not for govt subsidizing them with below market rate....
Kinda following along.. But wouldn't this being basically a gov investment secure nuclear energy as the future of energy and put a hitch in the green energy scam..
He needs to deregulate so we can innovate..

But we're not reducing regulation, they're just gambling taxpayer money.

Cheney was not a standard bearer for anything that didn't involve guns and wars.

Im not against nuclear. In fact, Im for govt cutting regulations to make it $$$$ viable again and Im with Trump admin cutting red tape here. But I draw the line at subsidizing it with below market rate loans...

And I think one reason why green energy fully caught on is the govt subsidies prevent true market innovation. No need to make better solar panels, for example, if .gov is going to subsidize your profit margin....

No truer words, in many ways.

Speaking of solar panels, and I'm in no way knowledgeable of how the R&D was funded, but have you seen the new solar "panel" window film for high ride buildings to harness all the incoming light energy? Pretty cool if it works.

Somethings gotta give in solar developemnt though. These large solar farms aren't cutting the mustard and they carry their own weight in damaging side efeects to wildlife and environment. They completely wipe out pollinators as a lone example.

No but didn't they have issues prior.... That shouldn't have flagged any loan.. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong

Think about it this way. What incentive does the .gov (politicians/bureaucrats) have to make sure a loan is repaid or that the borrower is successful? They don't have to worry about the bottom line, getting fired, losing a bonus or anything. Private lenders have incentive to make sure their borrowers repay their loans.

Your data is a hoax. Fake news. And a quarter behind. Wonder why?

I was being naive and thinking about is from a pov of at least they were heading in the right energy direction so maybe they'd protect it...

Trump plans on removing as much gov't red tape and fees on construction as this one.
A 2% gov't loan would save on cost over a 5-6% bank loan
