I never understood why kids get a nap. If anyone should, it should be us. :pinch:

It was on a street near my house. There is a center lane, a right turn lane and a left turn lane. There was an 18 wheeler in the center lane. I was going right and I did not notice him having his blinkers on. I started to go around him on the right and he proceeded to make a right turn out of the center lane. By the time I realized what he was doing there was not time for me to back up and no shoulder for me to bail to.

It crunched the A pillar, busted the driver side window and busted the windshield. He dragged my car for about 10 feet before he got stopped. I am just thankful that my kids are OK.

Here is a really crappy picture of the aftermath.

There goes my good gas mileage...

Thanks, man. I was very impressed how cool my 3 year old son was during the whole ordeal. After he stopped dragging us, my son said "What is that big truck doing?" very matter of factly.

Seriously, that had to be scary as hell, especially with the kids in the car. Kudos to the 3 year old and his calmness. Must get it from his dad.

I'll have to say this about the whole thing. I am very calm "in the moment" when stuff like this happens. Now that it was all over and I have reflected on how close that truck was to my son's car seat, it is kind of messing with me right now.

Vader, wow, what a picture, thank goodness you and your son weren't injured. Its always easy to think about what could have happened, I'm glad to hear you are both safe.
