I clearly have no idea how to quote when there are several quotes going on, Hahahaha! I need some tutoring!!!

Dickens I saw all that elitist prep school verbage you were throwing around :birgits_giggle:

I went to private schools all my life. I just think they breed elitist attitudes in the majority of the students.

Elitist and or simply encourage and foster a drive to succeed? The attitude is not "if" you succeed it is "when" you succeed. I love private schools and I used to love those McCallie boys, of course I have family affiliated with both McCallie and Baylor so during the football games the family is in a bit of a twist. I too am a private school educated person and I like that they teach you to hold your head high and behave properly. So if that is snobby then I'm a snob :) A sweet sweet snob!

Did I say that was the definition of elitist or snobby? No. Schools like McCallie or Baylor teach kids that they are better than their public school counterparts.

Well, it's unfortunate but the percentages speak for themselves. Let me just say 99% of everyone in my graduating class in academy went to college and then out of that, probably 70% went on to graduate studies and higher, ie doctoral studies. Private schools just make it hard to slug off, they want commitment and hold you accountable. I think if you personally thought you were better then that is what you took from it, but as someone that has been out of school for 8-9 yrs I look back and think it just made me want more for myself. Not settle for mediocrity. And for the record, there are some damn fine public schools out there now, they just weren't in Chattanooga when I was getting my education. And I think it's where you go to. My girlfriend grew up in Memphis and went to a public school and the way she described it, it sounded just as nice, if not nicer than the academy I went to and she just finished grad school a month ago.

Oh also, why does it matter where BJ comes from? He's so good and if he comes in as an 18 yr old that can speak clearly in front of a camera with poise and confidence, what is the problem? I was just confused by that thread. Honestly if our next QB can get us a couple National Championships I don't care if he crawled up out of the gutter and is mute :birgits_giggle:
