Gainesville people are all drunk at the games, the people that come in from area cities and towns are the sober ones that make it actually a great gameday experience.
When I'm at their games, they have the same fears about going to Knoxville....They all want to go up there and experience it they tell me. lane has made us all seems like we're trash talking, pompous punks because he represents UT more than we can individually.

You're kidding, right? No other coach in the SEC would ever be so stupid as to go public with a statement that his team was going to beat another one before the game. Falsely accusing Florida of cheating is bad enough, but to brag about beating them before you've coached your first game is insane. This isn't Little League, it's not the Pop Warner League. Kiffin is going to find out Saturday what happens to a team with a coach that mouths off in this league against probably the best team the league has seen in 20 years.

I don't like Florida, but they are the real deal, and they are going to punish Tennessee unlike anything you've seen in a long time. You simply don't have the talent, and definitely not the coach, to avoid this. It does you no good whatsoever to act like there's not a problem.

I won't enjoy watching it. I like you guys. But it's coming like a freight train.

I was down there a couple of years ago. I would say most of the fans are pretty cool, although you get a lot of trash talking (probably will be worse this year). But it is a good place to visit and a good venue for a game. Just like everywhere... there are some d-bags.

Gators, you suck. You always have. You were ****ty losers when we used to beat your arse and now your ****ty winners. But you still suck. Kiffin saying that is no different from what we've always said about you. You're just grandstanding. Sit down and Shut up!

I went to the game in 2001. It was a great experience.

Going into the game Florida was an 18 point favorite and expected to cruise into the Rose Bowl for the national championship against Miami. They were passing out roses before the game and the student newspaper had a rose across the top of the front page.

The only thing bad I remember was walking down University and some Florida fans yelled in my face, "Vols suck!!!!" And when we got back to our car the flags had been cut off of the plastic poles. But that was about it.

Most of the fans were so confident about winning that they didn't give us much before the game. I remember walking out of the stadium and you could hear a pin drop. I grabbed a student newspaper and held it up in the air and gave it to some of them on the way out. Then we proceeded to blast Rocky Top with the windows down while sitting in traffic.

Uh... huh... say what? NO OTHER COACH... ever??? Besides it was a statement to fire up the boosters and fan base. Flroida is the top dog.. no doubt. But I guess in many people's eyes it would have been better if Lane would have said.. "We are gonna be singing Rocky Top all night long when we beat Vandy...again" I wouldn't exactly call it "bragging" either. Good grief. I think the media has made this into so much more than it really is, adn seemingl;y everybody has run with it. Pretty sad really. Kind of reminds me of a time when another coach said (to his boosters) "You can't spell citrus without UT..." Remember how much THAT got blown up?

As said many times before, avoid the drunks and you'll be fine.

Some fine hotels up there, though, getting up towards Ponte Vedra and what not. Certainly once the kids are drugge.... er... sound asleep under the watchful eye of bear....er...senior members of the troop, you could sneak out and find one with a decent lounge...er....religious channel.
