I believe that a large portion of Volnation has become apathetic to the Volunteer Football team. 10 years of mediocrity, 5 head coaches, 4 athletic directors, overused slogans, subpar recruiting, etc. etc. etc. will take its toll. When I moved to Knoxville in 2002, you knew it was Football season by the massive amount of flags and magnetic Power T's on cars; fast forward to present day, I only saw 2-3 flags on cars Friday. Charlotte stadium wasn't even close to being packed out and it is much closer to Vol fans in Knoxville and Atlanta than WV fans. That game should have been a home game atmosphere for UT. There is a small percentage of Vol Fans who are vocal about the the team, the rest seem to not to care as much anymore. Its been a rough 10 years and being sold another rebuild project is not what any fan wants to hear now. I do like Pruitt and I think he can/will rebuild this team but will fans wait that long especially while watching all of UT's main rivals turn their programs around in a year or maybe two?
I don't see why its always such a big deal, the "We Suck" has already been done to death. Those guys think nothing else can be said. "We Suck, stfu / thread ". You are correct about history repeating itself.Isn't it funny how history repeats itself? These same long winded type threads were posted when Lyle first became coach. Look, people are impatient because they want TN football to be relevant again. You can't blame people for their frustrations and a 5 paragraph post on a message board preaching at people to think like you think they should isn't going to accomplish anything....except maybe make YOU feel better.
Tennessee's main rivals have more talent than Tennessee and that is why they were able to turn their programs around so quickly. Tennessee wont turn the football program around in a year, two or three years and Tennessee fans who think so are delusional idiots.I believe that a large portion of Volnation has become apathetic to the Volunteer Football team. 10 years of mediocrity, 5 head coaches, 4 athletic directors, overused slogans, subpar recruiting, etc. etc. etc. will take its toll. Present! Takes one or two classes tops. Best players are at a program THREE YEARS. I reject your math, your personal attack and YOU!Tennessee's main rivals have more talent than Tennessee and that is why they were able to turn their programs around so quickly. That's fine, but its not all that uncommon for a good coach to have it turned around in that time frame. Your username tells me you think we have a good coach.I don't think it's stupid and i don't think it's realistic to think that the Tennessee program will be turned around in a season or two
I think Coach Pruitt will get the program rolling again in 4-5 seasonsThat's fine, but its not all that uncommon for a good coach to have it turned around in that time frame. Your username tells me you think we have a good coach.
No one is a "delusional idiot" for thinking its possible. Only a delusional idiot would say such.
