The truth is Worley was what kept this team from getting blown out against OU or UGA
thank you thank you and again thank you. Anyone blaming the players are blinded with Butch Man LoveIts easier to come up with another cute motto than to change the offense. BTW its the only system they know. They should charge what its worth to watch. Players are not to blame here, they have tried to drag this rock.
Not only is this team young but the staff, particularly on offense, is young as far as knowing what it takes to win in the brutal SEC. Our OC, like Butch, has coached in 10 SEC conference games. We are 2-8 in those games. That must change. Our offensive staff obviously is still learning. Janeck, Thig and Martinez on the D side have been through the SEC wars with other teams. I don't think its coincidence that our D is performing more at a winning SEC level that the O.
The O staff needs to show some growing pains, as do the players. The young but talented receivers played young yesterday. The OL took a step back. The OC did not call a good game yesterday. He called a good game at UGA. UTC will be a glorified scrimmage, then the stretch that will define the season starts. This team needs its fans to stay behind them now more than ever. They are giving their all for Tennessee. They know more than us that yesterday was a game we should have won......
I am a firm believer that Butch Jones is the right guy to run our program. No matter how this season turns out that wont change for me.
You understand most of these posters defended Dooley tooth and nailSo now our coaches need more experience? Are you s9$%ting me with that excuse. Mark Stoops hasn't had to learn on the job in his 2nd year at Kentucky. He's just winning with a less talented and equally young team as ours. Hugh Freeze, in a very similar situation to Butch's situation, led his team to an 8-5 record in his second year, and is now sitting at 5-0. These excuses are unbelievable.

Its not an excuse. Its reality. Some of you fans are living through the looking glass in fairyland. Im not happy about Butch and our OC not adapting the game plan when we were up 9-0 late in the third qtr with UF not having crossed our 30 yd line. Worley should not have been throwing that pass on 2 and 5. Worley should have seen the heat coming. That one play turned the whole game upside down.
I just think some of you fans need to find another team IF you expect perfection and immediate gratification.
I was not a Dooley fan by mid year 3.
I am not a sunshine pumper. I am a realist.
I don't think most people think 7-5 is doable and 6-6 is likely.
I totally support Butch Jones. Love our coach. We need some SEC caliber linemen. Their coming. I am also very interested in what Coach Doug Mathews will say this morning on his radio show about this. Coach Matthews said a few weeks ago that this Oline is too small and not strong enough to be good in the SEC. The best he hoped for was for them to be serviceable until we get better, bigger, stronger Olinemen in. Jack Jones is coming.![]()

We'll know everything we need to know next year. We'll have 19 of 22 starters returning. Looks like we're returning virtually our entire two-deep sans A.J. Johnson, Jordan Williams, and Worley. As for the coaches, it will be their third season together in this league (Thig, Jancek, and Martinez already have a lot of experience in the SEC). With that being said, we'll no longer have to hear anything about bricks, processes, youth, or inexperience.
