I dont think Heupel wins a champ here but I also dont think the sky is falling. And no team is, but tenn plays every team every other year anyway. So theyll still get some of those teams. Dont forget, lsu and Florida just fired their coaches too. This loss doesnt signal trash from here on out, it also doesnt signal vandy is going to be almost in the playoffs every year. It took a Heisman level player winning an unusual ruling to beat them when tenn had a bad year. So not the norm to start freaking out long term over. That was the only point, yet everyone is jumping on my posts saying I'm coping, despite not disagreeing with what I said. Just that tenn sucks (I acknowledged).Oh well it’s good to know Vandy will only beat us when they aren’t garbage. Unfortunately, our schedule isn’t solely comprised of Vandy, Mississippi State, and the their ilk. I care about being good. We are not and don’t appear to be trending in the right direction.
It happens. Sh in front of that first word. Heupel with his offensive play calling in the 2nd half let his defense down. This one is clearly on him and not Banks. Worse loss if the season. If I was Banks, I might seek offers for a lateral move after the manner in which Heupel left the defense out to dry tonightI have supported JH at every turn but you can't lose to Vandy at home or away. You have better facilities, more money, more fans, top coaches. There are no acceptable excuses.
You wont find a disagreement with me with anything you've said. That doesnt mean Dooley/Pruitt years are here or that Vandy is the new long term bully. Maybe it will be, I'm just not that pessimistic yet.I don’t know. They might bring in another experienced quarterback from the portal for a year while their 5* gets experience. Like it or not they are a well coached team that plays hard. We have a talented team that often does not appear to be well coached. Vanderbilt dominated our team worse than Georgia, Alabama or Oklahoma and they are far less talented than any of those teams or us.
Nothing about 1996 applies today. They just won more games than they ever had before. No reason they have to stop there. The hope that they vanish back into obscurity is just that, a hope. They can buy a roster just like anyone else can. Today was good advertisement...It is being predicted that they are about to flip a 5* quarterback recruit currently committed to Georgia. This is the age of NIL and apparently they have a lot of money.
Remember, we scored ZERO against Florida in the second half, but some of us were crucified for complaining about the lack of offense: “…but, but we are saving the playbook for Vandy”.I know everyone wants to jump on Banks, and rightfully so for this game, but this once feared offense just scored 3 points at home in the 2nd half against Vandy. Not good enough.
It’s a matter of time before he’s fired. This is a terminal loss.I dont think Heupel wins a champ here but I also dont think the sky is falling. I hope you are correct. Heupel definitely needs to run a tighter ship and start holding the players and coaching staff accountable for their performances. You wont find a disagreement with me with anything you've said. That doesnt mean Dooley/Pruitt years are here or that Vandy is the new long term bully. Maybe it will be, I'm just not that pessimistic yet.
When I heard a stat earlier this week that UT was the youngest team in the SEC and Vandy was the oldest that definitely caught my attention. Why is this hard for you guys to understand? Vandy wins 7 games without Pavia. They needed a surprise ruling for him to play again and also for tenn to have a bad year. Its not like suddenly vandy is going to start ruling the series. They'll win 7 games next year too maybe. Tenn is one of the youngest in the conference. This is a BAD loss and Heupels outlook keeps getting worse, but the sky is NOT falling after this loss. Calling something a perfect storm is not coping.
Cool. And Peyton played for them for years. Vandy isnt going to get a pavia every year.
Fulmer with 5-6 that year buddy. He is nowhere near that lmao. This is a good way to put it. Heupel is now where Fulmer was in 2005. Do you fire the weak link coordinator (Randy Saunders) after a seriously down season... Or do you keep him on board and face a second straight subpar season?
Banks has to go. Otherwise tonight was the begining of the end for Heupel.
