I think you will handle them easily.

Tell you what, though. If you don't or the team wins but is struggling, you are going to hear some things in the stadium that you are not used to hearing.

I'm not sure if that's possible in the Swamp :) You are talking about the Swamp, right?

all the class of a bammer board :disappointed:
Oh please get a sense of humor dude

Back to the subject at hand.....Tebow looked good but it was WKU, I don't care how die hard of a UT fan I am, I woudn't make a title prediction after WKU, not saying you have LG because you definitely haven't, no one really has but we'll see how good Tebow is in 2 weeks same with our room for improvement on Defense

that's not entirely accurate......there have been rumblings from the home crowd for a couple of years now....

You misread it -- we were talking about USM. If you do not look good in that game, and particularly if at some point you are losing it, the crowd is going to get mighty restless.

The boo birds might come out.

We had some serious rumblings in the Zook era. When the paper grocery bags come out with the holes in them, to protect the anonymity of the fans wearing them, you'll know you've reached crisis stage.

I have to say that while I think the Gators have a good team, we'd be heading back to Gainsville with an 0-1 record as well if it had been us in Berkeley. Cal looked pretty d**n good, and Desean J. is RIDICULOUS! I think you set the tone for him not to field another punt this year!

I'm not totally ready to concede that. While I do think that Cal would have similarly lit the Gators up for plenty of points, I think Florida's offense would have been a bit more productive, too.

Yeah your team would probably actually tackled someone. Its hard to say cal made us look bad i'll say that. They would have scored on florida too.But i don't know florida would have probably won that game.

i don't know, the way they ended the 1st half, with like 3 penalties and a time out or something....was pretty comical.

Florid will be fine. they didn't do anything special...just beat up a bad team. will likely be the same next week.

and i'm sure over the course of the next 12 days, they will have viewed teh Cal and USM tapes more than once and will have the "real" game plan installed.........just in time for the SEC opener...........

Like him or not, Jake always seems to have a way of putting his finger on the right spot. Much the same as hatvol.....

There is an old axiom that most teams make their greatest improvement between their first and second game. If so, the USM game is critical for UT. They have to answer the following questions:

DEFENSE:

- Can the DL generate pressure on the opposing QB, as opposed to their own QB, by virtue of an inability to get the opponent's offense off the field?

- Can we at least get to one sack per game?

- Can the LB's show up, either in run support or blitz packages?

- Can anyone besides Eric Berry make a play in the secondary?

- Can we actually blitz on third and seven, as opposed to a zone look?

- Can we tackle, instead of the "Toreador Flail" that was prevalent in the Cal game?

OFFENSE:

- Can we score from the five, given a 1st and goal situation?

- Can anybody run a slant, and catch the ball?

- Can we figure out a way to consistently convert third and one (or two)?

- Can we give up on trick plays until we master the basics?

- Will 31 points be enough?

Seriously...unless Cal turns out to be a Top 3 team, we could be in a lot of trouble.

go vols.

With the possible exceptions of Appalachian State University and Georgia Tech, things for the rest of us in college football world are still ripe with the opportunity to do a lot better.

Let's not forget that we are one weekend into a three month process. As a Gator fan, I'm concerned about the defense. We showed a lot of confusion this past weekend, and that's to be expected undert the circumstances.

UT found out it has a pretty good offense that will score points, but needs dramatic improvement on defense. FSU found out that it needs a QB. Texas found out that it needs work on a lot of things.

Basically every team out there -- with those two notable exceptions above -- have to figure that the best day of the season is still in front of them.

easy for you to say gator. after we play you guys and lose our season is over 3 games in. it is getting old.
