The Runner's thread

I cannot run on a full belly. I get about a half mile in and have to quit before I get sick. I have to wait at least 45 mins after I eat before I can go run if I want to make it through.

Unfortunately my belly looks full all the time. Been running shorter distances in high heat and it's helping with the weight loss. I have run once or twice after eating and like you just said, it normally don't feel good.

Keep it up. It will continue to get smaller the more you run

I have been running no more that a 5k during the hotter times. When the weather starts to cool off again I will start adding distance back in. I am going to try and run another half marathon at the end of this year or beginning of next year.

Running in the heat blows. We are blessed with good weather here, but it definitely is hot at certain times of the day that I like to avoid. Have trouble catching full breaths in the heat.

The humidity is what kills me. If I run on pavement or asphalt when it's really hot I have a hard time catching my breath too. I try to wait til seven in the evenings to run which is usually a good time around here. Not too hot or humid but you still get a good sweat going.

Me too. Run at lunch and get in about 3 miles each time.

Would love to be able to run before work or during lunch but not enough time. Besides lunch time around here is usually the hottest part of the day.

Just bought a pair of New Balance Minimus MT200R(orange of course)

I'm gonna use them for my Spartan Race and Tough Mudder.

I tried a pair of those on and they felt really uncomfortable to me. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I need a shoe that has a lot of support.

I wear Nike Frees(a somewhat minamalist shoe) as it is. I've been walking around in them all day and they feel very comfortable. I also wear the Vibram 5 fingers quite a bit as well.

I need a bigger toebox than the New Balances offer. Spent the weekend swimming instead of running. Going for a five miler in the morning for PT. Hoping with the rest I can get a personal best.

Good luck!! :good!:

Thanks. I only use my Nike watch for my long runs and got my fast mile in a long run at 7:05, but they decided to lengthen the run to a 6 miler and I came in at 48:00 even. I'll take an 8 minute pace, but I wish I wouldn't have started out so fast had I known I was going an extra mile.

It always sucks to add distance to your runs and not know it. I usually save my best times for the second half on my runs so I can understand why you would be upset.

8 min. pace is a great pace too.
