The Runner's thread

I'm only doing the half

As am I this year...I did the first half in 2 hours and 15 min last year, but that is at a pace where I knew I had another 13.1 miles to go.

Rock and Roll series races spoil you as a runner. Are you going to the speghetti dinner the night before?

Depends on when I get in but probably

didn't run today, but I did some serious non impact cardio. 1000 ft on the versa climber, 1000 ft on Jacob's ladder and a 5000m row on the rower. Sweat my butt off.

yeah, when you do the 1000 ft on the versa climber first, it really kills you on Jacobs Ladder.

I have no doubt in that. I don't know if anyone watched/watches Biggest Loser, but one of the challenges was to climb 5 miles on Jacobs Ladder!! That's hard core right there.

geesh, that would take me forever, and according to the Army, I'm at least somewhat fit.

holy smokes. I have no idea how long that would take...I don't want to try.

I can't remember how long it took the winner but those guys were troopers and all three of the contestants finished the challege. For some reason I want to say it took over an hour but I am not sure

I'd imagine it would take them nearly an hour to run it...this seems much slower.

couple stats for the Nashville Music City Marathon and 1/2

Participants: 30,500 • Male: 39% / Female: 61% • Avg. HH Income: 42% over $70,000

Gotta have money to have free time generally, and entry fee's are not cheap. Most races skew towards higher earners.

Most races(half marathons) I've done are in the $40-$50 range. The Rock n Roll series is obviously going to be higher when they have artists and an after race concert.

I generally only run rock and roll, but I am doing a 10K in September that is only $10. You get a goody bag
