The Runner's thread

I switched to the Merrell Barefoot Series. They are fantastic. Really work the calves and I think do more to prevent over striding. The better form and posture I now have running has made running long distances incredibly easier. Ran a 10K earlier this week and it barely fazed me. Prepping for a marathon just became a lot easier.

If you do go for them, I recommend breaking them in first by walking around in them and maybe some light running. I went for a four mile run as soon as I got them and got some serious blisters. You probably want to go a size down from your regular tennis shoe because you're supposed to get a tight fit. Here's a pic of the True Glove ones that I purchased:

I have a friend that just bought some. I need to check them out. On long forest roads the five fingers aren't comfortable with the gravel. I had been thinking about a pair of Newtons but heard good things about the Merrells too.

That it is(a Rock N' Roll series). I'd like to eventually run a full, but I'm gonna stick to halfs for awhile

It's smart to do a couple of halves before doing a full. I didn't but I wish I had.

Rock and roll does it right btw

If I get time I plan on running in that one. If I do I will let you know.

Sounds good, let me know

I'm probably gonna try to run a half marathon every month. There's one 2 weeks before the one in Savannah up in Myrtle Beach, SC.
