The Rod Wilks thread (merged)

How not? I might use this in the debate, so, I need reasons.

wikipedia is saying:

Athletes must be

  • people who have competed at the fully professional level of a sport, or a competition of equivalent standing ... such as swimming, golf or tennis
  • people who have competed at the highest amateur level of a sport, usually considered to mean the Olympic Games or World Championships
i think you are on to something by declaring fbs to be the highest amateur level of football. if that doesn't work, you point out that these others have pages and they have no more met the credentials than wilks. if they say wilks doesn't qualify, then any player that has yet to dress for a pro game fails also.

You guys heard about the man that had a baby. Well breaking news. ROD IS THE FATHER.:eek:lol: He told us he could do all things.

Oh, oh, I got another case. Armanti Edwards, the QB of App. State, has a Wiki. FCS is the second tier of amateur football. Therefore, his article is a candidate for deletion as well.

If they push you to take him off of Wiki because He has not "played at the highest level", do the right thing man. there isn't any reason to fight this one. Obey the rules, don't look foolish...just simply ask them, "You mean has Rod Wilks played at the Rod Wilks level?" As the editor crouches back in the chair and scratches his head he will realize that all athletes (if they can then be called that) will have to go. And the new Wiki rules will read..."Can only be documented if they have played at the Rod Wilks level."

I heard that Rod Wilks heard his page might get deleted and in retaliation he deleted...Switzerland.

Rod Wilks is so fast when he was playing baseball he hit a line drive up the middle and the ball hit him in the leg while he was rounding second!

That's a lie. The ball would be too afraid to hit Rod Wilks, for fear of the safety of everyone within a quarter-mile of the stadium.

You know, I was thinking. VolNation needs it's own Wiki, like many other websites do. Maybe I can pester freak to start one.

I actually did all the initial work for a page like this a few months ago, and was planning to inlist the help of VN once I had kind of learned enough about it to get the basic site set up. We already have the best message board of any college team on the web, now we also need to have the best wiki so all can know of UT's greatness. Anyways, I kind of got swamped with work, and haven't had hardly any time to work on it, so even the basic design really isn't finished. If any of you are interested in adding to it all help would be awesome. I'm pretty sure we can make whatever Rod Wilks page we want on it, because the site is edited by the site admins. Anyway, the address is Tennessee Vols

I talked to a buddy of mine at Department of Defense, he wouldn't give me specifics but it appears that they had good information that Saddam was trying to acquire Rod Wilkes, if successful they would have had their "weapon of mass destruction".

I could do some work. After all, you see the wikis on every football season that Tennessee had between 1891-1918? If you did, that was me. Also, I did the template on the main Vols wiki for our football seasons.

As long as we're on the Wiki subject... Check my edit on Lane Kiffin's page concerning controversial remarks...

In late Febrary 2009, Kiffin denigrated the Georgia Bulldogs recruiting efforts in the state of Georgia on a talk radio show with the Rivals network. The University of Georgia Athletic Director Damon Evans, who is a noted crybaby along with the vast majority of inferiority-complex stricken UGA fans, responded that the program does not need to cheat to have success.[25][26]

And again... (This is so much fun!!)

In late Febrary 2009, Kiffin denigrated the Georgia Bulldogs recruiting efforts (editor's note: This is according to overly sensitive UGA fans who can't get over the fact that they are still, inspite of their "great" recruiting and Saint-like coach, unable to win a national championship) in the state of Georgia on a talk radio show with the Rivals network. The University of Georgia Athletic Director Damon Evans, who is a noted crybaby along with the vast majority of inferiority-complex stricken UGA fans, responded that the program does not need to cheat to have success

I guess Richt offered the "No comment" line out of fear that Rod Wilks would immediately strike him blind, deaf and dumber...

I added links on the site I was talking about for every team going back to the beginning of the program, so anyone who wants to add valuable info, feel free. Also, there needs to a monstrous Rod Wilks page and he needs to be the first player listed in the "Great Players" section in order to keep him happy.

Also, since this is a tie-in to VN, we need to have wiki's on posters with notability.

Absolutely! I've got to go to work now, but I'm looking forward to seeing if any VN people make some changes today when I get home this afternoon. Hopefully this will gain some steam in the near future. I had planned on bringing it up during the football offseason, but things got kind of crazy with the coaching change, but after spring practice, there will be a nice lull, and maybe this would be a fun project for some of us.

That's awesome stuff!! I'll bet that the admins will stay pretty busy fending off overzealous "editors" though... Great site. I promise anything I add will be legit. I have a ton of literature, game programs and newspapers going back decades...
