The results are in

Every generation thinks the one behind it is soft, and that the generation two behind are absolutely doomed because of their laziness.

I maintain that they are not lazy. They are just greedy, and used to instant satisfaction of their goals and needs. I know one young lady, mid-20s, very sharp. Became a nurse. Meh, long hours and pay is about 80k, but now she wants to go to law school because she thinks she will instantly make 170k if she does.

There is no sense of career, or profession.

Who is to blame? No person, or group. Its just the way it is now, maybe a consequence of technology and not having to spend the time to learn how to get from A to B when you can just press a button and have it placed in front of you.

That doesn't equal not having a path to career or economic success. Its more like you re not looking for it or couldn't find it if you are.

The instant gratification idea is a form of lazy.

What's greedy about seeking a profession that pays better? And how would going through law school be "instant gratification"?

Your example sucks.

I'd have to see pics in a nurse outfit.

As a friend of mine has pointed out to me, when we were in college we thought maybe 20 percent of the coeds were attractive. Now when we go to Gator games, every single one of them is gorgeous.

I was in Vegas end of last week. Friend wanted to get away from stodgy old Aria and Bellagio and go find some cheap craps over by Linq/Harrah's, which we did. I guess one of them has some kind of pool party thing going in the evenings because we just saw wave after wave of groups of stunning 20-22 year old girls, scantily clad (at most). One after the other after the other. Never seen so much sideb00b in my life.

I don't believe you.

Pics or it didn't happen.

P.S. we also know you likely got booted out of the expensive place since you bet in Barn to win.

I figured that's just a symptom of getting older.

I've noticed stuff like that too. I wouldn't consider myself old, but I'm rapidly approaching 40 and in general it seems like like there are more attractive women out there today than when I was in my 20s. I always figured it was something in the way you age. When you're 20, 35 year old women may not be so attractive. When your 38, they all look good.

HA! Sen. Hatch Mocks Elizabeth Warren's DNA Test Results With An EPIC Tweet

Politicos on both sides of the aisle have talked about Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-MA) DNA test results throughout the day. After all, the fact that she might be 1/1,024th Native American is mind-blowing. But, remember, she really touts herself as a "minority."

Republicans saw through her act right from the beginning. Everyone wanted to see DNA test results for how long? Months? Years, even?

Once it was finally released, everyone harped on her, including Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT). He took to Twitter to mock her DNA test. All I can say is... Well played, Senator. Well played.

Even Democrats liked what he said (probably because Warren's hypocrisy is VERY strong). And you know she's in deep doo-doo when her own party is laughing at her.

Lindsey Graham to take DNA test to find Native American roots: 'I think I can beat' Elizabeth Warren

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is ready to show up Sen. Elizabeth Warren, saying Tuesday he plans to take a DNA test to find out whether he has more Native American heritage than she does.

“I’m going to take a DNA test,” Graham told “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday. “I’ve been told my grandmother was part Cherokee Indian. It may all just be talk.”

Graham said he would reveal the results on the show in a couple weeks.

“This is my Trump moment. This is reality TV,” Graham quipped.

Graham said he did not think much about his heritage until Warren released her DNA results concluding she may be between 1/1024 and 1/64 Native American.

“I’m dying to know,” Graham said. “I think I can beat her.”

I don't know how it works for you guys, but when I was in high school there was no professional courses offered. most kids entered college not having a clue what they wanted to do, or even what they didn't want to do. bringing back those type of classes would help. maybe even just a shadowing class. have a dedicated class that teamed with local businesses to find places where kids could selectively shadow for a couple hours a week. judging on the CC success in TN I would think you could find plenty of businesses that would be happy to do something to increase the work force.

most of "us" aren't looking for a "career" as it has picked up some negative connotations. to a lot of us that means living to work. and most of us don't want that.

My mother used to make a dish called Cherokee Casserole. I heard it was passed down from generation to generation of my non-native American ancestors or Susan next door, I can't remember which.
Anyhow, to make all of this as non-relevant as Lizbeth's lineage, I had a DNA test done and I have a 1% mix of India Indian what does that make me? Can I get a portion of Casino winnings in New Delhi?

To remain off topic, I've been meaning to ask if your username is taken from the Suzuki motorcycle? If so, what year? 650 or 1000?

2007 V-Strom 650. Always wanted to ride it to Alaska and back. Tore up my shoulder not long after I bought it and sold it after it sat in the garage for a couple of years. My travel style has graduated to camping in a rolling hotel with an electric mountain bike.

Sorry to hear it bro. Would you recommend it for power/comfort for touring, sometimes two up? I'm looking for a bike that will do well around town but also do a couple of long touring trips a year. I know it will be a vstrom, just not sure between 650 and 1000.

Get the 1000 for sure if you're going to have two up for more than a short ride. The 650 is a lighter easier bike to throw around. If you're going to spend much time on the road I think I'd get the 1000.

My mom and dad had to pick cotton and log for a living , my grand fathers and mothers went through the Great Depression and aftermath of it living in the south , then went on to fight in ww2 . I am and my generation IS SOFT compared to what they had to do to survive . My kids have it better now than any generation before them and they ARE SOFTER than I am . There is no excuse not to be able to making a living or ( your way) in the country we live in today .

They already know who you are. If any of your relatives, either close or distant did one and a family tree based off of DNA testing. You're already in a data base, just saying..
Oh i know, they have my thumb print too. Not like I'm gonna commit to a life of crime at this age, I've never been in jail, it's still creepy and intrusive.
