Yes Our colors are Orange and White. We all know this. The baseball team wears black, the womens basketball team wears light blue. Who cares? They're all Volunteers. Get over yourselves, it's not about YOU! Let the kids have fun... if you'd rather cheer for apparel or colors, then go cheer for someone else. Color be damned.... GO VOLS!!!!!!!!

and i wouldn't mind seeing the black more often.

I agree!!! Just as long as they win i could care less.. although, i don't want to see them wear black all of the time. Just on occasions. Maybe once a year for a big game on ESPN or something..

All i'm sayin is cheer for the kids playing for the University.... not the color they're wearing.

U know what they say.... once you go black.....

There should be a sticky thread of all time Jimmy Hyams fails:

Butch Davis will be the coach at TN

Marlon Brown to Ohio State

etc.

I was completely against the black jersey's. I did like Kiffin's comments after the game it was for the players. Being Halloween, which is a fun "holiday", (and football being a game) it became a fun event. The more I watched in person and saw highlights on tv, the white helmets, black shirts, orange pants really did look good (once I got over the initial shock).

The thing that worries me most about the black jersey is that we would forget who we are. This color of orange is unique and hated by everyone else and that is special. Just the black jersey's was great and I wouldn't mind seeing it on another Halloween type thing. I just don't want to get into we need to wear black for "big" games. If we where them too much, it doesn't make them special anymore. We have done pretty well in orange shirts (for the superstitious types). We should not wear them against Bama and Vandy. It's best to wear as many shades of orange as possible when playing Vandy as it really makes their fans uncomfortable.

I don't think we should get into the all black uniforms, as it would take away from the orange. Black is a great color for making the orange stand out. I know the fashion people will keep working to make them look better and I look forward to seeing what they do. I also hope that they keep it a secret when they wear them because I don't think you are going to get Neyland Stadium to wear all black.

Did anybody listen to the Lane Kiffin Show after the game Saturday night???? He said that this was a one time thing. It was something the players wanted to do; it was just about the game being on Halloween.
I admit, I was one of the people b*****n about it all last week, but when I saw the energy from the team and in the stadium - OMG it was amazing!

I went to H.S in Va. and remember going to a playoff game, Tabb vs Lee High, when they ran on the field it looked like Tennessee vs Fla St. Thanks for takin me down memory lane LOL. And I love the black Helmets!

If it's a one-time-thing, then I'm fine with it...though they didn't really look as cool as I had hoped.
I just don't want us to turn into UNC-CH. They are light blue and white, but a few years ago, they started wearing navy pants. Now they wear Navy jerseys sometimes, and the navy pants quite often. I don't want us to turn into a team that wears black more than like once a year. I like orange and white.
Next thing you know, we'll start putting little Smokeys on our helmets.

It doesn't help your point to use the baseball and women's basketball teams as your benchmark for uniform creativity.

Let me know when OU, PSU, or USC change their jerseys because of the women's basketball program.

looks good to me. i dont understand all the uproar about white...the vols played it's first 30+ years with no white at all on it's unis.
