The Radical Islamic Terrorism Catch-All Thread

There you go saying "We" again as though anyone subscribes to your sad, sad sh*t.

Lol, you're my favorite one on here tums. You're somehow filled with more vitriol than I am even though 90% of my reason for coming here is to spread vitriol. You call people racist while obviously hating PoC more than anyone else here (even joe). You try and bust my balls for bringing up income twice, despite doing it in almost every single thread, claiming that your piss of a salary supports anyone. Then, after getting called out on the 13 year-old in your avi, you finally change it and have the retarded gall to accuse me of being sexually frustrated in any capacity.

You really are my favorite, man. At the very least, you can jab with the most vulgar of them. I'd even extend the invitation to sit down and have beers with you next time I pass through Savannah or wherever the hell you're at, provided your boss allow you.

You're always good for a laugh, albeit at your own expense. Lol.

Uh huh. When the truth upsets you, just exaggerate and make up things to lash about and it’ll become so, in your own little world. I suppose it fills some sort of empty void. Now, dance for me.

Sure, terrorism doesn't kill as many citizens as drunk driving,so we should continue to allow unfettered immigration until it does! Then it will be a priority worth addressing

What Rand Paul fails to understand is that it's cruel and it won't necessarily result in less terrorism in the US. Banning everyone of a certain nationality is the sort of thing that can fuel hate. Really, we're in a catch 22. The good news is that Islamic terrorism on US soil is rare.

Which do you think is worse? Rand's rug or the terrorists beard?

This is absurd. There should be tighter government control over foreign nationals entering this country than the choices of private citizens here.

I'm not sure I see why. We could actually curtail thousands of deaths working on issues here. But instead we get so fired up over what amounts to a fairly insignificant amount of deaths that you probably can't stop any way. Seems like improvement is needed many other places first.

A great read from one of the conservative columnists of the NYTimes.
Some of the more affecting quotes:

"Ted Cruz and other right-wing populists sometimes deride Manhattan as a liberal La-La Land of privileged people living far from the real world. But on Tuesday there was only the stark reality of multiple homicides outside our home and grim-faced emergency medical workers racing to the scene."

Disasters at close range also have a way of making ideological pronouncements seem remote, feckless and wretched. Donald Trump promised in a tweet to “step up our already Extreme Vetting Program.” .....Yet the notable fact is that even if the administration’s signature multination travel ban had been in place for decades, it would not have kept Saipov from entering the country legally and obtaining a green card before going on his killing spree. And getting a visa through a “diversity program” does not mean that he wasn’t vetted by the United States before his arrival or that he couldn’t have been denied entry on security grounds.

In the meantime, the responses that are meaningful, and for which one feels actual gratitude, are all local: Ryan Nash, the officer who shot the suspect as he waved what seemed to be two guns (toys, as it turned out) in the middle of West Street; the parents and teachers at P.S. 89 for sheltering the kids just as they were being let out for the day;

Few of us may go to church or own a gun, and hardly any of us voted for the president. But we are good friends to our neighbors, look out for their children and feel nothing but gratitude for the people who protect us. And we choose to live in a place that we know is a target for fanatics because fanatics will always target the things we prize most: openness, diversity, sky-high ambition and the belief that we are more than simply our racial or religious identities.

Something unreal, as people say, happened in my neighborhood on Tuesday. But we stayed real, and trick-or-treating proceeded on schedule.

Cruel????? Seriously Clark?

If we banned people from all muslim countries we had thousands of more people alive today.

And fueling hate? Look at them. They don't need any more "fuel" to express their hate and rage. We are the most tolerant country on the planet and the most diverse because of that..hasn't stopped their hate.
I could make the argument that our diversity is precisely what fuels their hate.

It's "You serious, Clark?"

Yes, if you ban individuals who deserve/qualify to be here simply because they have something in common with someone else, and throw in the fact that they are escaping war-torn/impoverished places, that is cruel.

Look at it this way. If a black guy raped a girl and then you banned all blacks from your city, would you think that's cruel, or nah? Think that might radicalize a few people to join extremist groups?

So not only is it our responsibility to be the world's police force, we have to be it's Salvation Army too.

I'm really glad you aren't in charge.

Nobody is talking about responsibility. I don't want to be the world's police. It's part of the problem.

I am talking about what we do to make the best of a bad situation.

Where in hell are the Emirates besides putting up their pornographic billboards everywhere? Where are the Saudis? Where are the peace loving Islamists? Why don't they take care of their own? Maybe.... just maybe they don't WANT them around. Just like the "Palestinians".

Why is it OUR problem?

Look, I feel bad for them too but you cannot save everybody.

Why are you still asking me irrelevant questions? You can talk about what you think is right and wrong until you are blue in the face. I don't care about your judgement. I am here to discuss what our government and political process can do to make the best of the situation.

... .and that is different, how again?

You don’t get to dictate the conversation and decide what is and isn’t relevant because certain things make you look bad and take away from your argument.
