The QB Debate - post South Carolina (merged)

He needs to improve for sure. That doesn't mean Chryst is better in that department. They got the ball out in the same amount of time.

Maybe people can stop lying about some mythical miracle quick decision making from a 54% passer who jus had one good quarter and two bad quarters. Especially when the first td was a result of the other qbs long pass.

Says nobody who works metrics. Stats are more telling than any eyeball test you can claim to see.
I don't trust any statistical comparison to come out of a newspaper, you believe them if you want. No sacks is telling. You don't see the length of time the ball was held until JG was sacked, only that they worked it into the mean. I'd like to see a standard deviation here also. Or a range, or a min max. Just quoting a mean means, well it means nothing.

So you would take out in 2.2 seconds and sacked the rest of the time to out in 2.1 and no sacks. You and D4H need to get a room.
One was down 28 with no blitz on him. One faced the best team in the country bring all the heat.

Sorry your made up narrative has been exposed. Fans like you are the reason they put that in there. All the JG haters have been calling in the shows and posting about this made up KC strength. Lol

And what exactly are you basing all of your praise for JG on? Well its sure NOT based on the ONE good game he has had out of all his starts. That was against Auburn and you been praising him much longer than that. I'll hang up and wait.. .. .. .. .. .. ..

Seems they both had little time, but KC knew when to get rid of it much better, hurried or not...

Processed things quicker...
LOL...if going by that article, Chyrst on average got rid of the ball 0.1 second quicker than Guarantano. We can be more generous and just consider the two times Alabama blitzed Chryst and he got the ball out in 1.5 and 1.7 seconds...a big half second or so better than JG. Factually he did better...but we're talking in terms of 0.1 second or a half second depending on how you want to look at things. That's a marginal difference. Chryst did well..not sure why some people want to use that as a slight at JG. Can probably win with both QBs and both have their positives and negatives.

Dude you expose about as much narrative as Jerry Springer. The only exposure you get is in your head. Like I said, you and D4H need to get a room.

I am going to only say this to you because obviously you didn’t read the article. Chryst was 2.1 average time with the ball and had two touchdown passes. Chryst got the ball out in 1.5 and 1.7 secs and completed one of those two passes while being blitzed. Also did not take any sacks.

JG got the ball out in I believe 2.2 secs average while being blitzed and took a sack.

Those are big differences in getting the ball out. Those aren’t the same amount of time.

Nobody is slighting JG...but you saw the difference...didn’t you?!

So he didn't have over 200 yards as a freshman vs LSU and UK? He wasnt 70% with no interceptions the first few weeks of the season?

I must be remembering wrong then. I remember games this year and last he played well in.

Nothing is made up about the stats or production versus Bama...KC outplayed JG...period!

Maybe JG was one of the ones Pruitt was referencing when he said the game was too big for some?!
True. He had one good quarter then the second half was worse than JG in the first. Stats don't lie.

What’s his touchdown to interception ratio since we want to talk facts?

Chryst performed better in that game. We've also seen Chryst get some playing time and look pretty pitiful throwing the ball. Maybe he's more comfortable now? I don't think you can decide Chryst is better due to one good half. The coaches that get paid to determine who is better seem pretty convinced it is JG. I'm happy Chryst did well. It is good for the team to see he is capable if JG gets hurt. I like the progress both QBs have shown and think we can win with both.
