I don't post much, but I am going to give me opinion on the QB situation.
JG is an average QB at best. He has real issues with pre-snap reads, locking in on receivers, bad pocket awareness, and is not a threat to run. He should have never been labeled a dual threat QB. Maybe we wouldn't criticize him as much if he wasn't labeled that way.
When you put an average QB behind a horrible offensive line, you get what we have seen all season. Yes, he had a career game against AU. However, you can't expect to complete 50/50 balls like he did in that game consistently. Yes, occasionally he makes fantastic throws. Unfortunately, he makes far more bad throws than good.
So why does he start? IMO KC would have to be miles ahead of JG to start. If CJP had picked KC to start, in all likelihood JG would have left or would leave. That would leave the team with McBride(who doesn't need to see the field and will likely transfer), and a true freshman as the backup QB's. With this offensive line, CJP probably didn't think he could take that chance.
If believe they are trying to give JG every opportunity to learn and progress in the heat of battle in the hopes that it will make him a better player this year and next. If he doesn't improve the rest of the season, I have a hard time believing he ever will. Don't be surprised to see a Freshman start next year.
