Lol @ people thinking UT will not only get a lead in an SEC game, but they will do so away from home. In what world are some fans living in where UT has shown even glimpses of being able to play competent football?

Is Pruitt disappointing you? Or are you disappointed in the previous coaches and admin that left him with a group of 5 roster to work with?

well....I've never been as enamored w/ Gus as many others. Lots a AU guys I know feel the same....have for a while. I don't know how in the wild, wild world of sports they beat UW.

There's plenty of talent on that AU squad...so, unless our VOLS continue to improve and come into the game motivated....not quite buying an upset at this point. ODU wasn't supposed to bet VT....so, there's always a chance.
Their defense. This year and for the past few years their defense has been sneaky good. It doesn't get talked about because Gus is an offensive head coach.

Gus's and Auburn's problem for many years has just been inconsistency. Great seasons followed up by underachieving or flat out terrible ones. I can't put my finger on precisely why, but Gus needs an elite (not just really good, but elite) scrambling QB in order to get what is possible out of his team. It's funny that the great/good QBs he's had have all been transfers too (Cam, Marshall, Stidham). Not sure if that is a coincidence or not.

He can have great players around his QB and a great defense, but if the QB himself is not great he gets nowhere near the most out of his guys. You contrast this with teams like Alabama, Ohio St, or Clemson - they can still be a great team without spectacular QB play.

I believe there is some middle ground between those two things right? Thats probably where most everyone is.

Sure, it just bugs me to no end when people take the stance that “you must be perfect if you publicly acknowledge your faith or your faith is discredited”. It’s a ridiculous standard

People put themselves out there for that type of ridicule. I was heading to church one morning, driving the speed limit on a 2 lane with a car riding my rear. When we got on the two lane the guy passed me and shot me a bird. We then pulled into the same church parking lot. Classic moment..

Btw, im not perfect, but I do drive the speed limit.

Oh how soon we forget, less than 12 months ago he defeated both teams that were in the NC game. What a dummy, wish our coaches were that dumb
he's what butch jones wishes he could have been here.

i never get the impression that auburn wins because of something Gus does. sure he's put the offense in place, and it's his....but, i don't know, it just feels like sometimes they win inspite of him.

and then they return the whole team from last year basically, and their season, for all intents and purposes for what it was intended to be, is over.

bottom up, yeah, it looks good from the view down here. but Auburn considers themselves peers with Bama and UGA. Bama and UGA don't lose to MSU and LSU like they have. God forbid they lose Saturday...lol.

it'd be awesome to see the meltdown.

When a coach has players that can play at a high level,at key positions they become better coaches.Seems to me Stidam could hep Gus out if he has the ability!I can't use players who don't perform and then talk about how dumb the coach is.If I were Gus I would lose with the next guy up!! JMO

Then why the non stop bashing of JG? It’s not like Pruitt has better options, which you have already agreed with
I didn't bash JG ....

The JG bashing only starts when people seem to think we have a good QB and have to be brought back to reality. So its not really bashing but more like administering an anti-toxin.
