No, but if they refuse mental treatment and are accepting of the consequences of their choices....ie life long without limb, no disability benefits because they choose to remove it and the Dr advised them and they still accepted...I view it the same as someone taking drugs.

Really? A physician has the ethical responsibility to first ‘do no harm’.. ie they can refuse to do your seventh breast implant surgery or nose surgery or whatever cockamamie procedure that you wish to have, so I am pretty sure limb amputation would be shut down tout suite

Absolutely the Dr can refuse at anytime..but if he agrees because not all are ethical then as long as the Dr isn't liable for an elective surgery..then have at....hopefully society will ostracize Drs that perform those surgeries therefore making the either change or come down..
