The Paul Bain Thread (merged)

Paula Bain one day gave birth
To a child with tremendous girth
She said I'll name him Paul
He'll give it his all
And stomp Gators into the earth

There once was a player named Bain
Who celebrated with Champagne
The players he crushed
to the hospital were rushed
And he had nary a stain

A team came to town called the Tide
The players were all cocky and snide
Their cheerleaders squealed
When Paul Bain took the field
Finally they could be satisfied

There once was a Chancellor named Cheek
Who once taught at a school with a streak
As Butch stacked a brick
His nose he did pick
The cameras caught his technique

(I know, that one didn't have anything to do with Paul Bain.. Mods - you make the call)

I hope Bain is dominating in practice but Butch knows about his following and is keeping it a secret until the season starts.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Because Paul Bain told it to.

I think I saw him in the Chattanooga mall food court one day sometime after classes were over. The UT gear and his massive size tipped me off. Would make since if they made a pit stop going to/from Georgia. Thought about asking if he was Paul Bain, but that would have been a very weird exchange if it wasn't him (and still fairly weird if it was).

I know many of you have probably seen this ^^, but I have this glimmer of hope that he is actually a pretty decent player and could contribute a lot more than just mop up duty. Age-wise he'll be a junior this year, so the 2 years he's had so far in college weight rooms (not to mention one full year in UT's weight room) will have done him some good. I did some research on him and he got his stripe removed the same day the DKJr had his removed. Correct me if I'm wrong but that only happens once the offense (since he's D line) recognizes and respects you.

One more thing: not to say that this holds much weight, but he played at Hillgrove High School in Georgia, the same (and biggest) division that Kamara played in as well. His team only lost one game his senior year and made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs...my point is he comes from a winning program like many players we have on the team now. Hopefully Shoop has a surprise DT waiting on us come September 3rd.

He caused a fumble by driving a OL into the back. How did he end up at Tusculum in the first place.

His SPARQ rating was crap too, 61.29. I think the fact that he was pretty light for a DT (in high school) may have had a factor. But he was playing against the best talent in Georgia so I would have thought that would have gained him some brownie points. I don't see why Strip would have lured him from Tusculum if he didn't see something. I think he could have at least as much impact as Vickers has had.

Paul Bain looks at his high school highlight reels and and mulls, "I was but a child then. I am more than a man now. I am a MAN! I will teach the SEC what MANLY MEN do"!

Agreed! This young man had his name called out a lot by the staff this past spring for his work and play in a positive way. if he fnds his way on the field and gives us some great reps and makes a few plays, we may have to import crow this year, not sure the domestic market has enough for just some of the posters here at VN, take in Bama and UF after we handle them this year, maybe not enough crow in the world to handle the demand!

When I watched his highlights, two things stood out to me;

He always seemed to be the first D line players set in his stance. His feet were not moving and he wasn't all "twitchy" as players tend to do now because they see it on TV.

The other thing is after he makes a player he gets fired up. He seems to be very high energy.
