Okay this reminded me of the 1991 game against UCLA. Most people remember it as being maybe the hottest weather the Vols ever played in but I remember the first offensive pass play by UCLA. The Vols had two all SEC DE's named Chis Mims and Chuck Smith. UCLA had a first round QB in Tommy Maddox. On that first pass play Mr. Mims met Mr. Smith at Mr. Maddox and pretty much destroyed Mr. Maddox. the hit was a good two count after the ball was released and every ref on the field tossed a flag. 15 yards and an automatic 1st down for UCLA but Maddox had happy feet the rest of the game and the Vols rolled. :loco:
