The pass that was picked was way too slow.

It wasn’t well thrown. I agree. It was a worse play call.
why was it bad? if it wasn’t open all joey had to do was throw it away. the call had to be something quick because a sack ends the half. bama knew that and was prepared to jump the route. good play by them, but if it wasn’t open joey has to throw that away. i actually like the call

I just don’t think it had a chance for a completion. You’re fooling no one with the bunched play action.

Yes he has to throw it away if it’s not there.

idk. i saw some names on jerseys tonight i’ve never heard of. did perlotte and spillman make tackles when given opportunities? i’d have to watch again. seems to me like there’s just no good solution at this point. DTs are also undersized IMO.

Gotta zip it in there. Period.
That play was doomed before the ball left Aguilar's fingers. The entire sequence of play calling, clock management and timeouts were just awful. And I think the stage/moment was a bit too big for some players and coaches. I didn't expect to win, but I at least hoped we could put up at least as good a fight as Vandy gave Bama. Just disappointed at how we played more so than the loss.

It was a terrible play call. The entire world knows you are throwing the ball. So either trick everyone and run it or have a pass play not dependent on a guy being left open. Doing a jumbo package play action pass makes no sense at all. That play call works great when everyone thinks you’re going to run the ball. But the clock and timeout situation dictated an obvious pass situation.

For instance, you wouldn’t run jumbo play action on third and 10.

We showed the play in the alignment. Jumbo? Really? DeBoer called timeout because he saw it. Then we stayed in the play. Heupel telegraphed the call, Joey looked down the throw, and they took it like a cookie from a baby. It was bad all around.

It was poorly executed. Throw it to the outside and it’s a TD.

You can always tell the ignorant fans because the only thing they know to criticize is playcalling. They don’t understand execution.

I'm not sure I agree it was a bad play call. Announcers said the whole world knew we were throwing, but was it a forgone conclusion? Perhaps Joey was to make the read at the line, based on defensive alignment. At least it gave us the option of passing or running. He just chose the wrong one.

I just know that 14 point swing changed the whole game. That along with two more first down drives inside the 5 yard line with zero points.

Throw it to the outside is the ideal location but there’s no guarantee Kitselman would have caught it. Especially last night. Woof.

Didn't like the call but if properly thrown would have been a TD. Was thrown low, slow and inside. Should have been with more zip, high and outside.

good point on the bunch. the whole world knew we’d pass. should have spread them out or ran from the bunch
Run the normal, spread offense. If the pass isn’t there, throw it through the uprights. Kick a field goal. Go into half 10-16, which would be a great result given how badly we played for thirty minutes.

Get a stop at the half and then score a TD and you’re winning. And that’s actually what ended up transpiring…

The only thing I didn’t really care for about the call was putting in the jumbo set to try to trick Alabama. They knew we weren’t going to run there. Might as well just put in your skill players. But nonetheless, he had a step and a good throw is a touchdown. Worst case, an incomplete pass.

It was never open. One defender almost knocked it down. The other one picked it. Should have been thrown into the cheerleaders. Play the next play. But they did say ole boy was a risk taker..... 🤔
