I feel like they’ve actually won more or done more across their sports more recently than Vanderbilt has, haven’t they?Wake Forest is the Vanderbilt of the ACC.
Speaking of Vanderbilt, I bet Corbin kicked his gerbil when he saw the final score
I’m guessing that Tony had to watch some friends get fired this week for early exits. It has to be difficult watching people you know lose their jobs because they slumped at the worst time. He's right but nothing good comes of saying **** like this to your fan base.. I wish he'd stop complaining about them every time someone puts a mic in his face even if I do agree with him on almost all points.
Makes me like him more. Love that we have a coach who’s not afraid to speak his mind.

I just know our fan base. He has the keys to the city right now, but that won't last forever if you openly antagonize them, especially if you have a bad season. Basically he will get the opposite of what he's asking for the more he asks for it.I’m guessing that Tony had to watch some friends get fired this week for early exits. I believe you. Hopefully Tony is our Nick Saban and it’s all calculated on keeping the program in the best mindset. Reminds me more of a Dabo Sweeney comment though.I just know our fan base. 100% agreeI agree. If this quote came from a coach who was mediocre and failed to back it up in the post-season, it would sound antagonistic. But when you’ve done what Tony has done and you’re as comfortable as he is in is own skin, let it fly. Sometimes our fans (myself included) need a reality check. I think Fischer basically begging for fans to show up and get loud was a dose of that as well. Take nothing for granted.
That's exactly what he's doing, and he's earned the right to do it. Every time Alabama lost a game, Saban would say "what more do you want from me? be thankful" in much more political speech.I believe you. I was referring to the school colors, private school, small stadium, how others in ACC view them as being little brother to NC schools, etc.I feel like they’ve actually won more or done more across their sports more recently than Vanderbilt has, haven’t they?
(Though I guess Vanderbilt also has a 2nd College World Series championship, so there’s that.)
"shut the **** up" it looked likeOn other subjects, these umpires have really been inserting themselves in games and in Duke and our cases giving handicaps for Super regionals Clark got hit by a pitch that was almost 100 mph-- and there was a ruckus. I'd want to throw things and curse, too. And what did Peebles say that got him ejected?
Baseball is hard to understand unless you’re a fan of the sport for a while. A far superior team can lose 2 of 3 to a rag-tag bunch. Heck, even the Rockies have 10 wins this season, including one over the Yankees. That's exactly what he's doing, and he's earned the right to do it. Every time Alabama lost a game, Saban would say "what more do you want from me? be thankful" in much more political speech.
But this isn't football, and our fans don't really get it unfortunately. Baseball is much more fickle a game, and they will have to realize that on their own.. Tony telling them will just make them think it's excuse making. I've seen enough of our football turned baseball fans retorts to Tony on twitter.
