I know Tony will never do it but I’d like to see Peebles move up to the 4th spot , he’s hitting like 340 his last 25 games , Bargo and Chapman have really struggled this weekend and striking out an alarming rate

We have to have some production from Bargo. He is really struggling seeing the ball right now. So glad last nights game didn’t end on the error he made.

All three were non competitive at bats. I know the kid from Wake was throwing nasty stuff but shorten the swing and go the other way with it.
No doubt their worst at bats of the night , Ensley has gotten a steady diet of breaking balls the last 3 weeks and hadn’t done much damage , we’ve seen Bargo have big games like last years Super with 2 homers , a lot of swing and miss by him and Chapman this weekend

The thing that bothers me are the bad at bats. Our three best hitters looked horrible at the plate in the 9th inning. Too much pressure?
That dude probably gonna be a major league left handed closer. Nasty stuff

I know Bargo has good stats but he just seems to have a "knack" for making a bad play or missing opportunities at the wrong time.

Overall, this team just doesn't seem to have "dudes" who make timely plays. I would love to see a comparison of this team's LOBs vs the past few and especially in tight games.

#7's stuff is absolutely amazing... yet he can't seem to close "the deal" in high stakes situations.

Overall the talent seems to be there but they just aren't as good as we've grown used to.

I hear ya , without Kilen ,Fischer and Doyle we’re probably not even a tournament team
It will be interesting to see how the roster is constructed next year.

Will the rising sophomores from the current roster take a big step forward, or will the best players on the team be mostly new transfers into the program again? It seems like there may be a dearth of talent with the 2023 class and that it will need to be supplemented via transfers. Hopefully, it will be a nice balance between the two talent pools.

The crowd's energy seems more like they're nervous we're going to lose rather than being loud and crazy to fire the team up. That goes for basketball too. I only got to 1 basketball game this past season (South Carolina for senior day), and that's the sense I got from the crowd. When I watch LSU or Arkansas games on tv, that's not the energy I pick up. I think we've gotten entitled very quickly

And it makes no sense (the entitlement)... this fanbase rests on it's laurels quicker than any fanbase on the planet.

Do you even give him the chance tonight? He is in a major funk. A day off and an opportunity for Abernathy or Newstrome might be in order. Might be what the doctor ordered and Bargo can come back strong on Friday.

I have been to almost all the home games and the crowds have been ok , there’s been several occasions where the crowd has been electric trying to will the guys to get it done and they’ve just not whether it’s us on defense or offense , this team just has a different makeup to it , could be youth or just a lot guys that are too laid back that just don’t play with emotion , hoping tonight they can get it done

I agree with this. The last place we need to place blame is on the fans. Can they effect the game, sure in some capacities, but it's on the player's to make plays. The stark difference as far as crowd from this year to last year has been moving the student section, it definitely hurt the overall atmosphere.

If the team doesn't have enough juice within itself to win today, we need to assess what players we have in our locker room. This is what kids dream of.

I like Fisch and he makes a good point because LNS should be a huge advantage for the BaseVols, but that kind of atmosphere requires more ingredients than just 7000 people.

Too many unforced errors and too many RISP left on base and the crowd becomes stagnant and paralyzed by fear of the worst. I haven't really looked but I would bet dollars to donuts this team has the most errors of any team under CTV.

The term that gets thrown around the most is BVS. Unfortunately, there are many UT fans in that stadium who are still working through the last two decades of disappointment. BUT, I guarantee one thing Fisch, if you give them something to cheer about, the crowd will respond accordingly.

Come on man we were louder in series we lost vs Vandy and Arkansas in 2021 with 3,000 people or less due to Covid there.

I used to think expanding the stadium was worth what it comes with. Now I wish we hadn’t bothered. The atmosphere was better before.

For those that will say Tony had stadium expansion as part of his deals to stay here.. I don’t doubt that he probably feels exactly the same as me right now.

I think this is where we are still behind from a fanbase perspective with schools like LSU, Arkansas & Mississippi State.

Those places cheer any moment they can and can almost WILL their teams to a W. You can put so much pressure on yourself as an opposing team when you know any mistake, the fans are going to get into the game.
