Sorry guys, there are no excuses. UCLA was a 6-7 team that returned 9 starters, then lost some of them, plus played a 3rd string QB and 2nd string RB, had 4 INTs in the first half, and we were running the football on them (their biggest strength was rush D, and we beat it).
We travelled across country last year, so this wasn't anything new.
The team was not prepared and we have some horrible horrible coaching.
It was their home field advantage. That's the ticket. Wait, UCLA has one of the worst home field advantages in major college football.
