Kind of like food stamps and welfare (I worked for social security for a couple months for my first job, hated it! so maddening)

I'm fine with helping out the homeless or those that actually need food stamps - like some came here after hurricane katrina, lost everything

But those that screwed up, continue to choose to screw up, use money they are given for drugs/alcohol, and want to claim to need help bother me.

I remember my mom telling me about a time someone came up to her at a gas station asking for money, wanting to fill up their car with gas. My mom was willing to help, said sure lets get your car filled up with gas and I'll pay for it directly to the cashier....the guy declined.

When working in social services, some people tried to get money through welfare to help pay for things for their family...but part of that was to go through classes and then get a job. Well some would get a job, report it, and when they did their welfare amount went to nothing or was dramatically decreased....so what would they do? quit their job!

I'm the same, don't mind helping anybody who needs it. I've known several who cheat the system, and it burns me up.
