Nextdoor has been a continuing source of amazement to me since our days in Point Richmond CA. “Well, yes, I left my keys in the door, but but but they shouldn’t have used them and why did the police laugh at me?”

My granny used to prop a chair under her door handle at night to make it wedge in case someone tried breaking in

I stayed with her at night for several years because she lived beside us, and I'd just be there to help her

I mean she would wake me up in the middle of the night and make sure I had it there

One night several years ago I had done my routine check to make sure the doors were locked, and I went to bed

She came back and asked why I had a chair at the door, and I didn't know what she was talking about

But apparently in my subconscious I had grabbed a kitchen chair and wedged it under the door handle at the back door in the kitchen

Just weird how after all those years, and I did that without even realizing it

But they told me when I went that they had a lot of people waiting, so it would be 3-4 weeks
