The Official Tennesssee @ #2 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, CBS

We might or might not win an SEC game this year. I think we have a shot at several of them though. We're still at a low point but my gut says the trend has changed.
If we open up the playbook like we did in the third quarter we could beat SC, Missouri and Vandy and no I'm not drinking or doing drugs.

I think KY gets past the freaking dogs. Not buying Georgia as the #2 team.

Just like the whole world was so sure the Lamecocks would upset UGA. That didn't work out too well either. Kentucky doesn't have near the talent to hang with GA.

How is it that you and orange Rush don't see the overwhelming talent differential between us and UGA? We stayed with them until the 4th quarter! Good coaching is the only explanation I can think of, for this scenario to happen. This game was much closer than the score indicates!

We shall see. I don't think Georgia is as good as advertised. Plus, I hate them so judgement might be clouded.

Oh noes, a like ratio fail!!

Seriously? (no comment on the content of the post, as I haven’t kept up. But like ratio, geeze...)
It's a gameday thread so posts are flying in quickly.

Summary.

ETV did not realize next week is a bye so I and a couple other posters called him out on it. His like ratio supports the fact that the majority of his/hers contributions are mostly irrelovent.

Well, wasnt expecting that response, kind of made me feel like a jerk. You'd have to admit that that was more than a slight improvement from last week. We may make a bowl, brother. Hang in there, I think you are just negative by nature. We would have beaten Vandy tonight with that performance, probably Kentucky too.

All good, I hope everyone shows some sort of emotion about UT football and we all don’t have to agree. I think we need drastic changes to make a bowl or even win more than a couple more games and not sure that’s possible. Imo a major part of the problem is game planning to do things we can’t do and trying to make it work until it’s too late.

As strange as it seems, UK is actually a very good football team. They’ll give Georgia fits.

That team had Dobbs.

Okay? That team had Heart.

My whole answer was based on that team winning multiple games where the Time of Possession was not in our favor and the Defense not giving up.

This team might not have the same talent as a few of that players on that team but if each one of them did give their all and had heart you wouldnt see a drive where they ran it down our throats for almost 8mins when we had a chance to possibly make a comeback. They let Georgia run all over them even when they had them in 3rd down situations. That is called not having heart. Heart no matter how tired you are wins you at least one play.

It's going to take time, I know when young you want everything right now but life don't work like that it takes time and in time this team will get better but it won't happen overnight just hang in there and we will RISE. GBO

I cannot stand the way this team is quiting at the end of these games
You didn't watch the same 3rd and 4th quarters that I saw. The defense had to play way too minutes and cause at least two fumbles which would hae changed the atMichigan is losing in the third mosphere of the game. I am not saying we sould have won the game , but the game was much more competitive than I thought it would be.

I just turned on the Michigan - Northwestern game and Michigan is losing 17-10 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd qt. Maybe something good will still happen tonight.

Agreed. There's some folks pumpin' the shine right now on this, but to me that's just an indicator of how desperate some are to get anything positive out of this process. Tennessee didn't look much better or much worse than they did last week, which is to say -- they looked bad. Really bad. Folks can either be honest about it or they can try to comfort themselves with imaginary victories, I suppose, but Tennessee looked bad. S'all we can really say. And you either accept that or you don't. Doesn't mean you crap on the players or the coach but I would struggle to understand anyone who thinks we had anything to hang our hats on today. Just another loss in a season that looks like it may very well fit in our lost decade of thinly-tolerated mediocrity.
A lot of truth here. Although I saw improvement in details that seem to indicate the coaching staff has had to basically start completely over with fundamentals with this group, but are making progress. If that's the case, and to me it looks like it is, we're playing all true freshmen skillwise and the S&C program they have been under did not do enough to get them much past that stage physically. So we're freshmen playing against seasoned SEC teams in essence. Coupled with a mis-matched recruiting effort from the former staff, we've got what we're seeing.

Kentucky might not but they do have the talent to steamroll us into the ground. So hopefully we don't let that happen when we play them.

Youve been awful quiet, McDad. Everything ok?
Yeah bro. Im good. Thanks for asking. Did a ton of work outside today and listened to game on radio.

Even though UGA overmatched us, i "saw" improvement. Lots to work on but better.

Yeah, I mean, I think Pruitt's impact on the defense continued to show in this one. They're making mistakes but some of those are due to talent gaps and some are due to player error. The good news is they can attempt to correct the latter and recruit for the former. I came away from today's game thinking the defense has got potential and that's going to have to be what we cling to while the offense ... does ... whatever ... it needs to do ... to that whole endzone thingy. I continue to be very appreciative of Juaun Jennings coming back, also -- I only regret we can't find more ways to get him the ball and let him do what he does best.

I was going to give you a like, but decided it was irrelovent, irroluvant, irrolavint, you know

I agree with you. I’m going to watch them tonight against SC. If that same Georgia team we played today shows up in Lexington they will lose. I didn’t see a lot of fire in the UGA boys today.

Hate to say it, but even rival games may have trouble getting up for a game against us. It’s just where we are right now. Can’t expect immediate results. I think they are heading in the right direction.
