Vols will throw Tidwell. Who is Texas’ #2 guy?
My guess is Tristan Stevens (RHP). From what I’ve seen, his fastball ranges from 90-94 but sits around 90-92 as the game goes on. Another guy we could possibly see starting is Pete Hansen since he is a lefty and we have been struggling with lefties. I would think Texas would want to go with their true #2 guy in an elimination game but we’ll see.

It looks like if someone put Tennessee orange in the oven and left it in too long.

If they do go with Hansen, what does his stuff look like?

Tough Sunday with losses by UT and Braves early. I agree that VOLS seemed a little tight. Gotta loosen up and have fun with it. We will be fine. Hope CTV stays with us for a decade and keeps Omaha on our places most visited. Keep you chin up Vol Nation. See you tomorrow at 1 CT. Braves won last night 1-0. As the worm turns. Go Big Orange! Win and get back into this thing.

i'm with you. I'm an Angels fan so I haven't had much to be happy about baseball wise for my college or pro team since I was about 8 years old lol. I usually play MLB the Show on my weekends but I just wanted to get away from all things baseball after this

I highly doubt we score 0 runs again, so I think this game will be decided by our man Blade and which version of himself shows up.

Someone call Tony and tell him to exclusively wear the Smokey Grays the next 4 games, because for some reason we tear the cover off the ball in those uniforms and our home whites we struggle in. Time for another Smokey Gray double digit run performance....

Let's think about this...

We're throwing Tidwell Tuesday and assuming we win, we turn around and play the loser of MSST and UVA Thursday. I think it's a Heflin/Sewell combo Thursday and hopefully we get some offensive help so we don't have to deplete resources. If we can get through the losers bracket, we can throw Cheese Friday, which is HUGE. This is going to depend on Tuesday, but on Saturday maybe we can go Tidwell 40-50 pitches, McLaughlin, Hunley, Connell, Walsh, Mabry (all of which might be called upon Tuesday, Thursday or Friday). Bottom line is we need to score runs. We don't have the pitching to be in tight games and come out of the losers bracket.

Game 1 vs UVA (Sunday, June 20th)
Cheese: 63 pitches
Hunley: 11 pitches
Walsh: 10 pitches
Sewell: 17 pitches

I think it's safe to say we didn't burn any arms in Game 1 aside from Cheese and he'll be ready to go Friday if we can get him there. I wish we had that one extra day of rest that they have in the other bracket, but I'm just as thankful we didn't use a lot of pitchers yesterday.

I think Tidwell is a potential elite pitcher who is coming into his own late this season. He could throw a gem tomorrow. I also think this team was tight and had stagefright yesterday. They should be more accustomed to the big stage by tomorrow. I look for us to win tomorrow and then who knows. I like your pitching availability analysis. GBO!!

If they do go with Hansen, what does his stuff look like?
Hansen is a lefty who is similar to Heflin. He gets a lot of his put outs with the slider/curve. They both range from around 77-80. Against Fairfield, his first 5-6 strikeouts were all with the slider/curve (similar movement). Only saw his fastball a couple times from the film and he was sitting around 86-90 (90 on a good day). I’ll say this, I believe Abbott has better stuff than either guy we’ll see tomorrow. I would like to see Tristan Stevens. Not gonna say he lives by the fastball but that’s definitely his go to pitch. I think we could get on him especially with him being a righty. I’ll go more in depth and put together a little scouting report or something on the 2 guys we might see once I leave work.

So THAT's your trouble. I can relate: I'm an Orioles fan!

Tennessee is 15-1 after a loss this season and has six winning streaks of at least five games following a defeat.

It's never over until it's over. Its much tougher for sure, but if we're looking for silver linings, maybe the early loss will refocus the guys. If there were any concerns about them being over-confident, nervous, etc. that's done now. They have to lock-in and play focused. I'm sure the loss will help with that as it shows them ain't nothing easy even against the perceived worst team left in Omaha....because there are no bad teams.

The coaching staffs probably know each other very well with Anderson and Elander being former members of Big 12 staffs and they probably recruit a little bit against one another as well.

Tenneasseans like Boone and Crockett and Houston are interweaved into Texas history.

Was Chad Dallas recruited by Texas?

Not directly, but his mom was recruited hard by MR. DALLAS!
