The Official Tennessee vs. Purdue Music City Bowl Game Thread, 3:00 PM ET, ESPN

Do you have a reaponse other than my temperament ? Yes im angry, im angry that officials have to much subjective power influence by money... In no world does anyone look at the 4th down call and blow that play dead unless you have a real agenda.... The NCAA needs to look at its officials universally. It has needed to happen for years and IF you are going to have a replay use the damn thing correctly. This is not the first and probably not the last time this will happen... I do agree we need defense badly, I cant say much regarding the Offense because it has scored more points than any in the schools history. We left some plays out there and maybe a few calls too. No staff is perfect. Not even Saban... They just have the players to execute. I don't kniw if we win the game, we were cheated out of a chance to see.

THAT, is a Fact... Indisputable; except for ACC Officials I can Tell you for SURE, most of the $$$$$$ was on Tennessee.

Take it easy man. Nobody is calling for him to be fired. He made some of the most brain dead coaching decisions of the season tonight though. I mean Bush League, shouldn't be coaching JV ball type coaching decisions. F*** that was bad.....
The dude just broke the all time scoring record at ut in his first year. We scored 45 again tonight. We could’ve scored 60 if we hit some open throws. Just a tough game tough loss no reason to throw ur coach under the bus.

Whistle doesn't matter when forward progress has determined to have been stopped. They explained it on the broadcast.

He was stopped short, they weren't letting him move forward, he had to reach his hand out to score but at that point he had already been stopped and the ref saw and called it. That's the rule. It was the right call whether we like it or not.
And the review booth got the rule wrong, and the announcers did not challenge them on it.

The whistle is the be all end all, else fumble recoveries in many situations wouldn't be reviewable, and any official could arbitrarily decide a play is over at any time whistle or not.

Because even though there was no whistle the official felt like he should've blown it before we scored.
This right here is what I have a problem with..... it was a pivotal point in the game.... Yet you take it upon yourself to give the screw.. IF replay is to exist this should be taken out. It should not be subjective to one guy saying his progress was stopped when there is no evidence of such.... That is what replay is... Evidence

After what happened last year, all the Mcdonald bag takers that left in the transfer protocol, I think most were saying 5 wins. We are heading in the right direction and need players.

I think I said 3-4. Heupel got so much more out of this team than I thought he would. I was expecting an awful defense and am inept offense. He turned around the latter…now we just gotta do something about the former.

We are playing with 65 or so scholarship players. And without our best O lineman and best player in the secondary. I don’t want to hear about Purdue being short handed

All players are out because they are not getting paid to play in a game that does not help them. NIL.

Whistle has everything to do with it. What about a late hit after THE WHISTLE.

Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.... How can an Official Decide forward Progress was stopped IF he hasn't blown the whistle! The Whistle is the STOP PLAY!

How can I answer your question? It is a question based on opinion and guess work. I have an ideal of coaches I feel could have reached the same record but nothing that can be proven so why engage? Your keyboard cowboy response was stfu was for what - expressing a fact? So if you tell me to stfu for facts, I can only imagine your response to option and (un)educated guesses.

Love the post so I'm asking out of complete seriousness. Do you have a reason to feel like the refs have an agenda that the NCAA needs to look at? I ask because the NCAA shields them from criticism in a way that protects this kind of behavior. I am sure I am a bit cynical but I have my doubts that it is by accident.

Dont be stupid, nobody is calling for JH to be fired. Doesnt mean we didnt see some bad play calling and bad execution tonight. Granted, the reason we have come to expect better is because JH and this scrappy team have given us hope - and yes, the refs were utterly corrupt and stole the game - but tonight, JH, HH and the rest of the team did not give us their best the whole game.

I am still proud of what they did this year.
You should be. They just broke the all time scoring record at ut. Scored 45 again tonight. If not for some miss throws by hooker probably would’ve scored 60.
I hate the way the refs screwed us tonight but I’m glad we have coach huep! He made us all proud this year.
