The Official Tennessee vs. Michigan Game Thread, 7:15 pm ET(03/28/14), CBS

The only question is whether you make that call with the game on the line and late in the game or let the players decide it. I've seen much weaker charges called.

I can't believe the defender moved his feet fast enough to even get there and flop.

CM blew the play call. Not only do you take the ball out of the hot hand (McRae), but you also take away our best offensive rebounder (Stokes). It should have been McRae taking it to the hole and Stokes crashing the boards just like we did to get back in the game.
CM is just not a good close game coach . He is a blowout coach or bust.

I am not sure you know what play was called. Stokes, I think, was to hit McRae on the cut to the basket. Stokes had to draw the double team and then pass for the layup. Foul was called-game over.

The whole "we lost because our coach sucks" bs has ran its course. The team played hard till the very end and surpassed my expectations. Tip your hats to Michigan and stop bashing the team and staff, damn. It's like a bunch of monkeys throwing poop at one another in here.

Our coach isn't very good. It is what it is. Good job turning around the season and great effort in losses against both UF and Mich.

I'm proud of our guys, more heart than any team I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Those guys left everything on the floor.

That being said, I would have rather lost by 15. My heart can't take this

Stop with the class lectures, again. It's obvious what you're doing.

and its equally obvious what you are doing and what you do on a routine basis.

i said originally i did not think it was a foul and thought the ball should have gone to j rich or jordi. j rich has been a beast and has been getting to the rim.... many others have said that as well.

the point is one can disagree without name calling....and i will continue to express that as i do not resort to name calling.

Uhm, the ball went out of bounds.

Michigan recovered the ball....Had they not called the foul, UM would have had the ball...I'm not knocking Martin--except for this CRUCIAL play, which was UBER-STUPID. Stokes was 12-14 feet from the basket! You don't throw it to your center 12-14 feet from the basket with 10 seconds to go in the game.

I went back and watched it several times and not once did I see where it looked like Stokes was looking for Mcrae or anybody else. that is my opinion. everybody else can say what they think he was going to do but it does not matter now, good run by the vols

Great effort. Very proud of this team. Unfortunately, in close games you leave yourselves vulnerable to the refs knee jerk whistles. But the effort to even get back in the position to win was amazing. It's Great To Be A Tennessee Vol.

Stokes catches it 12-15 feet from the basket every time down the floor.

I just watched the replay and all the other Vols seemed to be watching Stokes. I'm pissed about the play and the call. It is almost unheard of NOT to throw it to one of your quick, ball-handling play-makers in that situation. Martin lost him mind on that play--that's how stupid it was. And let's not forget--they doubled stokes and knocked the ball away. Had their been no call, Stokes might simply have lost the ball. At best he would have had to recover and go get the ball, leaving him with the ball with maybe 5 second remaining about 17 feet from basket.

I said get it to Stokes, if possible. But Stokes has to recognize the double team. Jordy was open.

I still don't agree with the foul call, but bottom line is our best player the last 3 weeks had the ball to win the game. We had a chance.

I've seen 5 million blocking fouls called. Could have went either way. I guess I'm blind I keep watching it and I just don't see him lowering his shoulder. Oh well

Actually had the right call been made, a block, the worst that could have happened was Stokes would have been shooting free throws. Refs shouldn't determine the outcome of games. Just like against FL when the ref called the technical on Maymon. Some Refs have too large of an ego and should find another profession.

It really hasn't been.

List the above .500 teams beaten.

Missouri... nobody else in the SEC.

Iowa lost 6 of their last 7, including to pathetic Northwestern.

Mass is the team's best win in that run. #LowStandards

And I don't even tweet. Cause it's dumb.

What an *******

If there hadn't been terrible calls throughout the game those refs might get a break. Watching players get slapped in the face and shoved off the block and over the end line gave them little room for error

McRae was not cutting or moving--he was looking at Stokes. If Stokes were six feet or closer to the basket when he got it, yes, throwing it to him would have made sense. But he was not close to the basket.

RE Stokes: He needs to continue to work on his game away from the basket if he wants to succeed in the NBA. He could rebound in the NBA, but not score--he's a tweener. He would not be able to operate close to the basket like he does now, IMO.

Charlie said he's a better college player than he was.
What'd charlie have that Stokes doesn't.

Bottom line. I can't stand KY either, more so Calipari, but what I really can't stand is how the analysts bash SEC basketball. Your coach got you into the tournament and you almost beat the BIG ten best team. You can analyze the last play all night long its not going to change. Congrats on a well played game. Go SEC and for me go gators..

We are really going to b1tch about the reffing when we had to foul Michigan like 3 times at the end of the game to get them in the bonus while we were already in the bonus?

The refs were fine most of the game. There were many reasons why we lost, the refs were way down the list if even on it.
